Traditionally, a face was not painted on a Japanese paper doll. In this master class, we present, probably, the simplest version of a paper Japanese doll. How to make a simple Japanese paper doll.
To make such a paper doll, you will need:
For the head - a circle of white cardboard with a diameter of 2 cm
For the neck - a rectangle of white cardboard 0.4x4 cm
For a kimono - a right-angled triangle with 12cm legs. If you have double-sided paper (different colors on both sides), then you only need 1 triangle. If you have the desired colors on different paper, then we cut out 2 triangles, and then glue them together.
For the doll's belt - 3x2.5cm
For the hair, cut out two rectangles of corrugated black paper 3 (or 4) x 2.5 and 2x5. Note that the stripes on crepe paper should be vertical.
Making a simple Japanese paper doll
We glue the circle - the head and neck of the doll with each other.
For a kimono paper doll, glue together, if necessary, two triangles to each other. If you have paper with different colors on both sides, then this operation is not needed.
Bend the edge of the triangle (hypotenuse) to the front side by about 1 cm.
We put the neck with the doll's head in the center of the triangle and glue it.
We fold first one left side to the right, then the other side.
Bend the right side to the center again.
Then we make the last fold on the kimono from left to right.
Making a belt. We fold the edges of the rectangle to the center line along the long side.
We put the belt between the folds of the kimono of the paper Japanese doll and glue it. If the belt is longer than necessary, cut off the excess.
We make the hair of a Japanese doll out of paper.
Glue a long piece of corrugated paper to the back of the doll's head.

4. Grab the top two layers of paper at the bottom of the model and fold them to the side towards the center line, making a squeezed fold in the corner.

What do we need to make it?

Multi-layered napkins in bright colors for kimono and obi belts, black pleated hairstyle paper, half a board of cardboard 1cm x 10cm, 2 cardboard mugs d-3cm, scissors, glue or double-sided tape, as well as every little thing for decoration.

So, fold the strip in half, glue it with two round blanks.

Then, cut off 1/4 of the napkin, do not separate the white layers. At the top we bend a narrow strip on the front side, and on it we perform the origami technique - "fold-zipper". If this is difficult for children, then we simply turn the narrow white stripe to the colored side again and again.

Turn the napkin over with the wrong side up. Put a circle on a stick in the middle.

We start to wrap on the left. It reminds me of a Russian traditional swaddling doll.

Now on the right.

And again we make a fold on the left.

And to meet.

Turn the corner of the kimono nicely.

we close all corners with a wide obi belt from another, contrasting napkin.

from the back we grab onto glue or double-sided adhesive tape, laying the ends in the form of a bow.
