China sewing factories. In which cities of China sewing is carried out. How to find a supplier of quality copies of world brands

Expanding your business, creating your own collections of clothing, footwear, and accessories can be made many times more economical by paying attention to such a direction as OEM production in China. Recently, business representatives from the CIS countries and Russia have begun to pay more and more attention to this format. The Moneymaker Factory made step by step plan cooperation with Chinese factories and plants, and perhaps you have an option to significantly expand your zone of influence!

Today, more than 4,000 factories of different directions in 350 industrial areas are successfully operating in China.

All plants and factories are geographically located in industrial regions in Primorye and in the East.

The most important thing is that at these enterprises the cost of labor is several times lower than in America and Europe, so many brands decide on sewing clothes, accessories and other products right here.

The Moneymaker Factory decided to analyze this issue in detail and introduce the reader who is interested in long-term cooperation with factories in China in the OEM format. step by step algorithm, plus, discover some interesting and important details!

OEM manufacturing

So, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) production is a system of relationships that involves the implementation / creation of a product (in our case, this is clothing and accessories) by special order.

As a result, at the exit, the manufactured product has the client's brand name, that is, absolutely any company can order the production of a branded product identical in quality and all basic characteristics, reducing financial investments.

OEM Benefits

Is it worth paying attention to such a format at all? Definitely, as there is whole line advantages!

  • Production, as already noted, allows the creation of goods under a certain brand, and this moment cannot but be unimportant in the context of promoting your goods on the market.
  • There is always the possibility of replacing the contractor and starting the production of clothes and accessories at another factory, and all this while maintaining the name of its brand.
  • OEM production greatly reduces the time for mass production.
  • There are no restrictions in terms of the release of this or that product, plus, it does not matter where the customer lives geographically.
  • Low labor costs combined with highly developed infrastructure.
  • There is no need to increase the cost of organizing sewing.
  • The ability to concentrate 100% on the sale and promotion of your products.

If you are firmly convinced of your decision, then all the necessary actions will be described step by step below.

Step 1. Selecting a manufacturer (factory / plant)

Don't underestimate this point! Sometimes difficulties begin at the stage of search. Attention! You can find a manufacturer on the Alibaba.com website or comfortably use the Russian-language project chinafactory.ru, in which all factories are divided into categories, which simplifies the process at times.

After several applicants have been selected, it is worthwhile to analyze the validity of the choice! We have compiled for you a simple checklist that will help in this matter (for each question in the table, try to find the answer, and the picture will become clear):

Table Checklist for choosing a factory / plant in China

General information about the plant / factory

Enterprise technical assessment

Financial assessment of potential

Availability of legal registration documents in full.

The quality and level of equipment and technology.

Basic financial indicators.

Field of activity.

The presence of certificates, both Chinese and international format.

Availability of the results of the last audit.

Experience in cooperation with foreign companies, especially from Russia and the CIS countries.

Compliance of the equipment used with quality standards.

Market share occupied.

The main competitors in their market segment.

Personnel qualification level.

Organizational production structure.

Workload, as well as depreciation of equipment.

Financial performance and general condition.

Based on the information received, it is already possible to draw conclusions. Once the selection is made, you can contact the factory / plant representatives directly. Of course, for these purposes it is best to use the services of an interpreter. If all is well, you can move on!

Step 2. Discussion of branding details

At this step, you should discuss with the utmost scrupulousness all the nuances of the design, the logo, as well as agree on the shipping brand, the texts that will be written on the labels or packaging, and so on.

This point is so important, since later it will depend on it whether the end consumer will like the product, moreover, whether problems may arise at customs.

Step 3 - Discussion of volumes. Minimum batch

Since we are talking about an order at a factory, it is therefore quite natural that there is a certain minimum value, which is different for each factory and depends on a number of conditions. It is impossible to predict how many units are considered as starting points - everything is discussed individually with the supplier, but there is a number general trends which it will be useful and interesting for you to get acquainted with!

Exists unwritten rule- in factories, the minimum order is 200 units (1 color and 1 model). Sometimes it is possible to agree on smaller volumes, but in such a situation, small orders will be "sewn" from those materials and accessories that are already available from suppliers or from leftovers, which is not suitable for every situation.

As for adding your own label, there are also a number of nuances. There is a restriction on the manufacture of special fittings and packaging products under an individual brand. For example, cardboard labels-hinges will be produced in any quantity, but starting from 5,000 units.

Step 4 - placing an order

It is necessary to send your order to the selected Chinese manufacturer, in which the nomenclature (list) of the ordered goods will be listed as detailed as possible. We recommend that you describe each item in as much detail as possible, describe the quality and quantity of each type of product, attach sketches, photographs, pictures, descriptions, requirements for the materials used.

This is done in order to get the most correct quotation of the final cost of the goods from the Chinese factory, as well as the so-called packing list (the international term Packing List).

REFERENCE: What is the Packing List? This is a document in which the manufacturer indicates the dimensions of containers for packaging, weight, volume, net, gross, as well as article numbers, attaches pictures and so on, that is, it is formed full set data on the manufactured goods for the correct calculation of logistics and customs duties.

Having received a packing list from the manufacturer, you will see which type of transportation is better to use. We recommend at the same stage to request export HS Code from partners from China.

Step 5. Making a list of expenses

Since the question is serious, it is better to initial stage, even before the conclusion of the contract, find out how much, at least approximately, you will spend on customs and delivery. To do this, having received the packing list and HS Code from the manufacturer, immediately send them to the transport company and broker so that they can calculate the cost of services of this nature. After their answer, there will be a clearer "picture" in my head with regards to the economics of the project.

Step 6. Obtaining product samples

At the 5th step, it is optimal to request the receipt of samples of sewn clothes and accessories, in order to make sure that the product will be High Quality... By the way, this is relevant when you have in mind several applicants for cooperation.

Usually it will cost you a certain amount to send samples, but in the end you will be able to avoid the risk of receiving a defective batch of goods. Upon receipt of the samples, if everything suits you, you can start drawing up an agreement / contract.

Step 7. Conclusion of the contract

This is one of the most important and fateful stages. We strongly recommend that you never make an advance payment until you have your own sample of the contract signed by the factory / factory.

We also do not recommend concluding the so-called Proforma Invoice in the form of a small document without any specifics. Only a full-fledged contract with a written application in the form of your specification, drawn up by a professional lawyer. By the way, today most of the Chinese factories work with the English-language versions of contracts.

ADVICE: the received samples (see the previous paragraph) are best signed by the manufacturer, putting a seal on them, plus, add the inscription "Reference sample to the Agreement No. ___ from ___".

Step 8. Prepayment and launch!

It should be remembered that the Chinese will never work without prepayment, and this is their right. After official opinion of the contract, it is logical that you need to make a prepayment or, as an option, a deposit.

Attention! At this stage, you can still make some adjustments to production, especially with regard to packaging, and also slightly change the packing list. Further on, this opportunity will no longer exist.

Pay special attention to the correctness of the indicated weight, since if it is indicated incorrectly, then at the customs office you may encounter such a nuisance as an administrative fine, reaching up to 100% of the total customs value.

Step 9. Obtaining a sample of mass production

As a rule, ordinary factories and factories in the PRC ask the client for about a month to make a batch. This also includes the time for printing stickers (stickers), packaging, inserts, and so on from an outsourced printing house.

Now is the time to request a production sample that was created specifically as part of mass production. If there are any complaints about the quality, and this sample is radically different from the first, then you should urgently contact the factory representatives and settle this issue,

Step 10. QC order

At the same time, all details are checked under the "microscope":

  • Packing quality
  • Box sizes
  • Weight and so on

ADVICE: be sure to record all the stages of the film check, calculate the number of places and make sure that, in addition to your cargo, nothing extra is put into the container. This also applies to gifts from partners and even catalogs of goods, which our "friendly" customs can easily mistake for undeclared goods or even for contraband.

Thus, you can see that the process itself completely falls on the shoulders of the factory / plant, and the customer's difficulties are mainly nerves, worries and great responsibility, plus, constant control, because your own money is at stake. That is why we have also prepared TOP5 basic rules for OEM production, which will help you avoid fatal mistakes in this area!

TOP-5 rules for working with factories

Sometimes the unexpected happens: it seems that all the conditions are met, but problems still have a place to be. Why? The fact is that the overwhelming majority of OEM industries located in the PRC are not able to fully defend their rights and freedoms, since all disputes in this direction are resolved exclusively according to Chinese laws.

Of course, the legislative framework has been improved many times, but it has not become ideal, which is why it is so important to be extremely careful. Before you start looking for partners, read some simple rules that will help you avoid losing money.

Summary

Thus, you have got a turn-based strategy. By adhering to all points of the plan, you can minimize risks and get an excellent opportunity to expand your area of influence and increase conversions under your brand.

If you still have any questions, the representatives of the Moneymaker Factory are ready to answer them at any time!

Every person on the planet probably has a label on clothes in the wardrobe with the words "Made in china", even 90% of the most famous brands in our time are made in China. In this regard, China is amazing.

The volume of clothing that is sewn in China, for a start, I will give in the export statistics from official sources of China for 2012.

According to customs statistics, in May 2012 the number of exports textile clothing from China to Russia amounted to 710 million dollars, compared with the same period last year increased by 23.6%. Export textiles amounted to 240 million dollars, compared to the same period last year increased by 28.3%, clothing exports 470 million dollars, compared to the same period last year increased by 21.3%. May is considered the most active month, in May 2012, throughout the country, exports increased by 13%.

From January to May 2012, the export of textile clothing from China to Russia amounted to 2 billion rubles. 550 million dollars, compared to the same period last year increased by 8.5%. Of these, the export of clothing amounted to 15 billion 800 million dollars, this indicator remained at the same level with the previous year, the export of textiles amounted to 970 million dollars, compared with the same period last year increased by 25.9%. Russia is becoming an emerging target market for China, and the growth rate is very high. Russia is China's seventh major export country.

In the main categories of goods, the export of textile clothing amounted to 560 million dollars, compared with the same period last year, the growth was 2.4%, the export of lace clothing 480 million dollars, the figure decreased by 17.6%. Exports of yarn amounted to 40 million dollars, a decrease of 16.8%. Exports of fabrics and finished goods amounted to 400 million dollars and 530 million dollars, respectively, an increase of 8.8% and 48.6%. By finished products, export growth is evident home textiles- 320 million dollars, an increase of 81.6%. The decrease in the export of lace clothing amounted to 220 million dollars, or 30%.

Over the entire period of work, under my control, several production processes... Manufacture of children's clothing, jeans, leather jackets for men and leather raincoats for women. During this time, I was able to visit the production of at least two dozen factories of different levels and price categories, so I already got some personal impression of the production of clothes in China.

Most of the readers probably wondered how this actually happens and perhaps would like to establish own production in China, this will be discussed in the next article.

To start making clothes in China, you need a lot of work and study. There are many nuances, but over time everything will fall into place, to say in one word it's real.

The first thing to start with is to decide on the volumes. This is probably the most important point at the first stage and you need to be ready for this earlier. Many do not know that Chinese factories begin to talk, not less than 100 units of one product model. Of course, everything also depends on the scale of the factory, there are those who start production from 1-5 thousand pieces of one model, one color. At this stage, the majority of those who wish, as a rule, understand that they will not be able to cope with such volumes and go to wholesale suppliers... If you can handle such volumes, then move on to the second point.

Main provinces and cities where you can find factories
for sewing clothes in China.

Provinces:
江苏 | Jiang su
浙江 | Zhe jiang
广东 | Guangdong

Cities:
温州 | Wen zhou
广州 | Guangzhou
东莞 | Dongguan

The second point is the choice of the direction of production. At this stage, a lot changes and a decision needs to be made deliberately, to understand the customer's capabilities in terms of design development and subsequent sales.

Types of areas of cooperation:

1. Production under your own brand and according to the design of the factory.
Here the choice is worth, not so much on the productivity of the factory, but on the range of models that it offers. The factory gives a choice of catalogs, you choose the models and negotiate the quantity. Transfer to the factory your design of labels and labels, so that after the goods are ready, they can attach your TM to each item.

2. Production of an existing one Chinese brand on the design of factories.
Everything that has already been produced in China, I do not mean world brands, then you can go to many factories and restart production. It remains only to find the factory that produces required collections clothes and make contacts.

3. Production under your own brand and according to your own templates.
This is the most difficult process in my opinion, because it is mainly creative work, it will take a lot more time and effort. To do this, you will need to develop a design and your own production technology. Creation of patterns. Pick up all necessary materials and fittings. Find a suitable factory that will fit all the customer's requests and scope of work.

4. Making a copy for a given sample.
You will need to show the factory only samples and they will select identical materials themselves, and then make exact copies of several pieces. I advise you to give samples to 2-3 factories, then compare and choose the best one. To do this, you will need to leave deposits that are not returned in case of refusals, in practice, from $ 100 to $ 300.

Basic tips when working with tailoring factories:

1. A trip to China.
You must definitely visit China before starting work. See everything with your own eyes, visit production and negotiate with the management yourself. Find a competent translator or contact a company.

2. Workshops.
Explore the production halls. In them, you will be able to assess the production capabilities in order to really calculate the production time. The quality of the equipment on which the goods are produced, this will indicate the number of marriages finished goods... The number of people working in the workshop will speak about what the manufacturers are focusing on, on quality or quantity.

3. Samples.
To study samples of those products that were sewn at the factory before. Basically, in every more or less large factory, there are showrooms in which all these samples can be viewed. It is desirable to compare the samples with the level of the equipment, perhaps these samples were made at another factory.

4. The past.
Explore the history of the factory. Find out if their factory has sewn any famous brands brands, which will be a guarantee of quality and experience with serious orders. And also, experience of working with foreigners is also important, it will be easier for you to understand each other in any controversial situations.

5. Timing.
Stipulate real terms production of the order. Offhand terms vary from 1 to 3 months, you need to understand this and be ready for it. There is no need to rush the factory to produce your order, it will not lead to anything good. You will only increase the% of scrap and the% of materials used for the production of each thing.

6. License.
Check the manufacturer for an export license. If it is available, then it is possible to conclude a direct contract with such a manufacturer and it is possible to reduce the cost of the goods, since the manufacturer, after shipment, will be able to return export VAT. If there is no such license, then you will have to contact an intermediary and pay money for it.

7. Continuous monitoring.
It is imperative to control the production process at every stage. At the initial stage with the choice of materials, during the production process, pay attention to the quality of the cut. Study the rest of the materials so that they do not use more than planned. Plus, of course, send a person to control the shipment to make sure that the manufacturer did the right thing.

8. Choice of materials.
Most factories producing clothes in China already have established contacts of suppliers of fabrics, so they will be able to offer their own, you can agree, but you will have to overpay for fabric, because the factory will take a commission for the search and purchase. These are not bad or cheating, they just save you time. Anyway, I advise you to visit the fabric markets in China and look at this variety of types and colors. You will find a lot of useful things for yourself and you will understand what the great China has to offer.

Guangzhou Fabric Market Addresses:

1. 广州 中 大 布匹 市场 位于 海珠区 新港 西瑞康 路, 中山大学 对面
Guangzhou Material Market, Haizhu district, Xin gang xi rue kang road, opposite Zhongshan University

2. 广东 西樵 轻纺 城 有限公司
Xi qiao shan, lv you jia district, Xin cheng area

3.广东 省 广州 市 市 辖区 沿江 东路 429 号
Guangdong Guangzhou Shi xis area, Yan jiang east road 429

This concludes a short article on clothing manufacturing in China. Feel free to work with representatives in China, it will be less profitable for you, but it will be a guarantee that your product is manufactured in the right amount and quality. Then you can calmly engage in sales in your country.

Thank you for the attention.

So I am glad to welcome you to our portal 1ogistic (site.ru). Together with CheckCHina.RU, we decided to tell you a step-by-step action plan in finding a factory in China that interests you, at the same time showing you what kind of work or what difficult task we undertake by performing this service for you.

The variety of Chinese industries cannot leave a buyer, i.e. You are indifferent. Here you will find fabrics, furniture, sanitary ware, faience, ceramics, Construction Materials, various equipment, as they say in China, you will find EVERYTHING you need! You have a question about finding a FACTORY in China, about which will be discussed further.

Let's write a small plan on this issue, so to speak, we will clearly write down all the steps, up to the set goal, so as not to "DRAIN" a lot of money)

Find where in China, i.e. in which provinces your product is produced.

Prepare for yourself a list of factories with your products located in this province.

Monitor factories on the list of black companies and see reviews on the Internet.

Enter into correspondence with a representative of this factory (it is enough to know English, sometimes Chinese).

    Order samples from the factory.

Go yourself or send a trusted person to the factory to finally be convinced of the reliability.

Conclude a contract with a factory (if direct).

Use the services of a third-party company so that it concludes a contract with the factory and sells you the goods in Russia (if not under its own contract).

    Order quality certificates if necessary.

    Sign contract.

Control the shipment of your goods.

Let's try to describe in detail our already formed and clear plan of action.

Chapter 1. Find where in China, i.e. in which provinces your product is produced.

There is nothing complicated here, either you understand China and roughly guess what this or that province is famous for, or you start surfing (googling, dripping) on the Internet in search of this information.

Here is a list of provinces in China (by clicking on each you can find out what each of them is famous for):

  • Beijing
  • Tianjin
  • Chongqing
  • Shanghai
  • Inner Mongolia aut. NS
  • Guangxi Zhuang Aut. NS
  • Ningxia Hui Aut. NS
  • Xinjiang Uygur Aut. NS
  • Tibetan Auth. NS
  • prov. Anhui
  • prov. Gansu
  • prov. Guangdong
  • prov. Guizhou
  • prov. Liaoning
  • prov. Sichuan
  • prov. Fujian
  • prov. Hainan
  • prov. Hubei
  • prov. Hunan
  • prov. Hebei
  • prov. Heilongjiang
  • prov. Henan
  • prov. Jilin
  • prov. Jiangxi
  • prov. Jiangsu
  • prov. Qinghai
  • prov. Zhejiang
  • prov. Shandong
  • prov. Shanxi
  • prov. Shaanxi
  • prov. Yunnan

Chapter 2. Prepare for yourself a list of factories with your products located in this province.

"List of factories" - to actually come to such a list, you need to spend not one, two or even three days. So that you understand, when you plunge into the world of Chinese Legal Legal Forms, not everything that you find will be a production (i.e. a Factory), I can say with great confidence that there will be one or two factories on your list, and everything else what you will see will be trading companies, resellers, zakapushniki, taoba workers and God forbid, swindlers and scammers (I will say more than 50% of them at once).

How to find our factories on the Internet?

The first thing we need to know before starting our search is a small list of portals that will help us. By the portal I mean the site - which has collected all the necessary contacts of the "factories". Here is a list of such sites (I tried to arrange them according to their popularity):

1)Social networkwww.CHeckCHina.RU(Why did I put CheCHi in the first place? - Because it social network agents and factories from China, class "A", here you can be sure, what You will not be thrown because all transactions are insured by the portal itself, the agent will not start a transaction until he makes a deposit)

2)alibaba.com(A very old one, probably one of the first projects, where a large number of agents, factories and trading companies from China are collected, but no one here will give you confidence in honesty and integrity)

3)made-in-china.com(Prototype of the 2nd point)

4)globalsources.com(Prototype of the 2nd point)

Instructions for alibaba and similar:

All of these sites are targeted only at English-speaking people, both from the side of the manufacturers and from the side of the buyer.

You must be an expert in order to competently express your thoughts in English, based on knowledge of the specifics of the product you are looking for.

How to contact the factory?
After you have found the desired product and selected the manufacturers you are interested in, you need to send a request to the manufacturer. It is very easy to do this, each manufacturer has a link to contacts on the portals. If the e-mail is not specified, then you should go to the manufacturer's website and find the address Email already there.

When will I receive a reply?
Usually, the response to a well-written request, indicating the complete technical specification of the product, takes from Chinese manufacturers 2-3 days.

If we consider CheckCHina.RU, then such difficulties will not arise here, the maximum that will take your time is registration, and even then it takes no more than 5 minutes.

As for the rest, you get confidence in the deal, the reliability of the supplier, an instant response from the supplier (if it is online), and right here you can look at the store of a specific agent and maybe find your product there.

I almost forgot to say that if you want to "dig" sooooo deep, then you have to use a search engine made in China Baidu.)))

Step by step, each company thoroughly makes its way to the presence of a website, email address and phone number. If all of these are present, the address is saved. At the same time, we observe and find how the product of interest is spelled correctly in Chinese. When the name is known in Chinese, again all this is thrown on "Google" and "Baidu" the search gives a completely different result. Again, we start all over again, site, @ mail, phone. What they found kept. Then we compose an "appeal" in English and Chinese... Mailing starts. It happens that out of ten addresses, no one answers.

Chapter 3. Monitor factories on the list of black companies and see reviews on the Internet.

On the sitewww.TrueWays.ruthere is a list of companies blacklisted for one reason or another, it is updated as people send us their own mail bad experiences at work, or if we find some unpleasant news about a particular company.

Also, to once again protect yourself, you can search for information yourself on the factories that you have found. I will say right away if you find information like: the supplier no longer responds, they sent money, but the goods did not arrive, gave the departure number and no longer picks up the phone, when the question about visiting the factory came up, the supplier began to merge and say that now is not the time and in this spirit ... LIKE YOU ARE NOT tempted by the CHEAP PRICE OF THE SUPPLIER ABOUT WHICH WRITTEN A NEGATIVE REVIEW, LOOK FOR A CHECK, RELIABLE and HONEST !!! IT'S DIFFICULT BUT REAL !!!

Chapter 4.Enter into correspondence with a representative of this factory (it is enough to know English, sometimes Chinese).

To communicate with the factory, in 90% of cases it is enough to know English. How to conduct a conversation, dialogue, negotiations, call it what you want, but the Chinese are cunning people and want to earn no less than you, so it will look more like a bazaar, where you can not bargain badly if you have this skill))) ... Let me start again, How is it correct to negotiate with Chinese entrepreneurs? Yes, this question worries you most of all, I just want to say use the services of our companyTrueWays Logisticsand do not worry yourself, but I will try to explain everything in order.

Make sure that the supplier has exactly the product you need, you must understand that you are talking about the same thing.

Throw him a detailed specification, a certificate, something that defines his exclusivity over similar goods.

You shouldn't start talking right away, but how much, what is the price, etc.

Try to ask more about the factory, how long have you been working, etc.

Find out to whom the goods have already been shipped, to Russia, to Europe, which companies?

Is it possible to provide product samples?

What are the volumes of the factory?

Where is? (is it far from the port or airport?)

Smoothly move on to the price if you understand that the factory really exists.

In terms of price, the Chinese like to go from the volume, their only question that interests them is what is the size of the purchase you are a client, believe me, he will be upset if you are a one-off or your volumes = a pavilion in the Kashira courtyard)) it is better not to tell him about it))

The Chinese will throw off the price if you provide him with a sales plan (and he will throw off very well (2 times))))

Here are the main points in the dialogue with the Chinese manufacturer, of course, this is not all, but you understand that here you can discuss it endlessly, because everyone's dialogue is built in different ways, and the conversation can flow into a completely different channel, in short, it is needed individual approach and knowledge of the Chinese mentality.

Chapter 5. Order samples from the factory.

To order samples from the factory? -It seems to be nothing complicated) At first glance.

If you think so, then a very large percentage of Chinese make money by fooling Russians, Europeans and Americans, in other words, a game of sucker. They usually make money from small scams, such as saying that samples will cost 120$ (delivery), you throw the money wherever he says, and then there’s no word. And how many times will you send money to someone who is not clear? 2? 3? 5? ten? times, and this is no longer a small amount accumulates if every time you fall for the tricks of scammers.

This is where a trusted person is needed in China, such that he came, looked, paid, etc.

If this is not the case, then either you are lucky, or you can involuntarily become a "Loch".

If you are lucky and the supplier has sent you samples, then wait a little, not a little, not less than 1.5 weeks (budget optionEMS). Can be faster in 3 days(DHL, FEDeX, PoniExpress),but it is not cheap and not all product categories. If you are sooo urgent and not expensive, callTrueWays Logistics, they will think of something there.

Chapter 6. Go yourself or send a trusted person to the factory to finally be convinced of the reliability.

If the samples have passed and their quality coincided with your requests, then do not rush to sign a contract with the supplier. First you need to send a trusted person to the factory or go there yourself.

Typically, these people offer the following services:
- negotiating prices and payment terms
- checking and assessing the reliability of a business partner, audit of factories
- quality control and order execution time
- development and maintenance of contacts with interested suppliers
- search for solutions to problematic and controversial situations with the Chinese side
- collection and sending of product samples

Such a person will send you photographs from the factory, tell you what he saw, what he asked, what he heard in response, and he will simply either reassure you or disappoint you.

But do not forget that a person is needed with good experience, and not just from the street. average price such a service from 5,000 to 8,000 rubles + travel and accommodation costs (if he is very far away, he will have to spend the night in the province).

The first enterprises in China appeared a long time ago. The industry began to develop rapidly in 1978. At the same time, economic reforms were carried out. First of all, they touched on changes in the rules regarding exports, attracting investments, as well as taxes. As a result of all the changes, the state has become a leader in the production of many goods.

Brief information

In 2009, China's economy reached its peak. The state became the main exporter of goods, pushing Germany over. Products made in China are currently represented in large assortment and is found in many stores. Factories in China are developing along with European factories.

Many companies differ from each other in their profile. Moreover, they differ in their territorial location. For example, in the southern part of China there are those factories that specialize in sewing clothes, as well as creating technology. The most famous producing provinces are Shenzhen and Guangzhou. In the north and east, the chemical industry and mechanical engineering are open.

An important criterion when factories are opened, the closest proximity to the raw material base is considered. Other nuances are also taken into account. It is about cheap labor, availability of sales markets, cross-country ability of transport, availability of energy resources.

Industry development

Many are surprised, however, until the middle of the twentieth century, the Republic of China had a poorly developed economy and production. In terms of its development, the state lagged behind European ones by almost 100 years. After 1949, the situation began to change. The industrialization of industry and agriculture began to develop sharply. For 50 years, more than 350 enterprises and factories have been opened. The production volume increased 40 times. In count open production China on this moment takes a leading position. More than 350 industries are developing in the state. The pace of development is so fast that the government is trying to contain it. This is done specifically so that the world economy does not have sharp jumps that can lead to a crisis.

Metallurgical industry

In addition to open shoe factories in China, as well as an overdeveloped textile industry, the metallurgical industry is functioning well on the territory of the republic.

The country ranks first in the production of ferrous metals. On its territory there are reserves of iron ore, coking coal and alloying metals. They are considered to be quite important raw materials.

In addition to ferrous metallurgy, non-ferrous metallurgy is also developed. There are many deposits of copper, tin ores and other rare substances in China. Due to the fact that factories must have modern technologies, factories are mainly located only in the most developed areas.

Light industry

The food and textile industries are developing in China. The second is represented by factories in the north (production of wool, flax and hemp) and the south (silk and jute). China ranks first in the export of clothing made of cotton fabrics. However, counterfeits and counterfeits are occasionally encountered.

Light industry plays important role in the development of the country's economy due to the constant export of large volumes of products.

Food industry

In China, tea factories are open in a large number... They represent a separate segment in Food Industry... Enterprises are located in the southwest. The industry has been developing since the 80s of the last century. At the moment, China is considered the largest exporter of seafood, fish, fruits and vegetables. With regard to the tea industry, since the 19th century, the country has been considered the main supplier of tea. All factories are located historically. This is due to the fact that raw materials need to be processed immediately after collection.

Textile industry

The main industrial power of China is concentrated in the Shanghai region. Textile factories are engaged in the processing of cotton, silk, synthetic materials. Thanks to this, all the products created have a low cost price.

How is the Shanghai area different from any other area that produces fabrics? The fact that it is here that high-quality goods are created. Guangzhou produces knitwear that is suitable for making casual wear... Also, the creation of fabrics for sports products has been established here. In the Shanghai region, more complex fabrics are produced. For example, those that are needed to create costumes. In addition, the creation of jacquard knitwear has been established here. In addition to fabrics, sewing accessories are manufactured here, there are testing laboratories and textile machine building is developing.

Which provinces are included in the Shanghai region?

There are practically no clothing factories in Shanghai. However, offices of large textile firms are open here. The city is "responsible" for the import of products due to the fact that it has a seaport. In addition, international exhibitions are held here.

The production of furniture and non-woven products has been established in Hangzhou. A silk museum has been opened on the territory of the city.

Shaoxing is considered the center of China's textile industry. Not only fabrics and clothes are produced here, but fur factories are also open. China is famous for its products. On the territory of Shaoxing, knitwear, blended, cotton, suiting fabrics, as well as those suitable for the manufacture of curtains, are created. Textile centers opened. If you wish, here you can order a large batch of fabrics, or buy certain samples in bulk.

These provinces are considered the largest in the Shanghai region.

Shanghai area work

The factories in the Shanghai region are constantly being improved. Larger enterprises that create products for export make the most quality products. Most of existing factories produce cheaper and lower quality products. It is being created for the domestic market. Unfortunately, there are practically no factories that are able to compete in quality with Turkish or Italian enterprises.

Location of factories

The largest number factories in China are located in its eastern part. What is the reason for this? Due to the fact that transport can move well here, there is a raw material base. There are villages nearby, and, accordingly, there is a labor force. The Chinese are highly efficient.

In addition to the general goods that all residents of the country need, products of a certain type are manufactured. Each plant is assigned to a separate type of product. This makes it quite easy to find factories in China.

If we compare the United States and Europe with China, then we can see that this part of Asia began to develop recently, but rapidly. It used to be that the signature on goods "Made in China" was a sign of poor quality and was not as common as it is today. At the moment, the entire range is sold by affordable price, but also has good quality.

Where and what is produced? Consider the large provinces:

  • Chongqing. Auto and motor vehicles are produced here.
  • Zhengjiang. Factories for the production of electronics, communications and technology have been opened in the province.
  • Tianjin. Cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and Chinese biosynthetic products are being created.
  • Jiangsu. Metallurgical plants have been opened here. The manufacturing industry is developing. In addition, sewing factories have been opened. There are a lot of them in China.
  • Shanghai. The main profile is electronics and instrumentation. Due to the possibility of shipping, factories associated with the operation of ports have been opened.
  • Guangzhou and Shenzhen. There are factories for clothes and footwear. Electronics is developing.

Find factories

Many entrepreneurs who order products from China want quality products at a low price. Importers want to find real suppliers, but most often they come across intermediaries. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find a factory in China that actually manufactures this or that product. Why is that? Next, let's look at the main reasons.

Mini-factories engaged in the production of specific goods

If you need to find a factory that is engaged in the creation of ordinary goods, then it is quite possible to find the real coordinates of the supplier. To do this, you will have to constantly monitor online trading platforms. In the event that there is a need to find a factory that creates, for example, self-stirring mugs, then this is unrealistic. Such factories are considered rare and there are few of them on the territory of China. They have a small capacity, they employ no more than 30 people in the factory. Therefore, when looking for their real address, only intermediaries can be found.

Lack of information on English resources

Any importer interested in buying a Chinese product, first of all, is looking for a supplier on the largest English resources. Often, factory workers do not know of English language, therefore, it will not be possible to post information about yourself on foreign sites.

Moreover, the management of factories prefers to work with local trading firms. This is due to the fact that it is believed that keeping a person on the staff who speaks some language other than their native Chinese will be much more expensive than cooperating with an intermediary.

Lack of online marketing

In order to increase the level of sales, it is necessary to interest foreign importers. Competent promotion requires not only special skills, but also funds. In order for a factory in China to be profitable, marketing measures must be carried out correctly. However, factory workers cannot do this directly without specially hired people.

Therefore, small factories are lost against the background of large ones. Even if they are represented in foreign trading platforms, then they respond to users for a long time and rather sluggishly. This scares off potential buyers.

Counterfeiting production

Large companies produce goods, the quality of which is beyond doubt, but mini-factories often make counterfeit products... Especially often similar situation occurs when worthwhile things appear on the world market. Many Chinese factories copy such goods and sell them fairly cheaply. One can suspect that this or that shop is making a fake, because the representatives of the importer cannot get to the plant.

As a rule, those firms that create counterfeit goods only work through intermediaries. Therefore, it is impossible to find their real address.

I am often asked questions about production. In the first place, of course, is the question: "Why don't we manufacture our things in Russia?"

To be honest, at first I was even nervous and angry: “Well, how can people not understand? Here is a completely different level, a different world! "
And then he sat, thought and realized that how do you know how things really are. These scales are simply not visible, and it is really very difficult to feel the difference being in Russia. Then I decided that this is a live topic and it requires clarification.

We started filming video stories on our Instagram, showing factories, sharing the intricacies of production, showing how everything works here. I wanted to give answers to your questions, delve into the problem and show how everything is in reality.
Last December, we decided to tell two small stories about our factories in order to reveal in more detail the topic of clothing production in China.

It all started when I left for China in 2014 and saw in front of me new world opportunities. Quality, speed, choice of fabric and accessories, all this was available and gave birth to a lot of new ideas. Then it became clear to me that here I can go to new level... Of course, this is due to the fact that China has been producing clothes for the world's largest brands for many years. Or rather, it produced.

In the 80s, when everyone world production moved to China, people began to open large factories where export goods were produced. All major brands have started making clothes here.
At one of the many factories of that time, they sewed clothes for the American brand North Face. It was a large-scale production with large volumes and lots. Business thrived, but not as long as desired. The country's economy has risen sharply and incredibly cheap and attractive production began to rise in price, hence the cost of the product increased. Thus, what brought the country money led it into a big crisis in the 90s.

Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, they all offered a production price significantly lower than that offered in China. Some factories split into smaller ones, some just closed. The most persistent and loyal to their work remained afloat and survived hard times.

One of the workers at that factory was Yang Sensheng and his nephew Chen, who continued the family business despite difficult situation in the country.
Since his family was in the sewing business, he trained to be a designer, collected all the documentation from his days with the North Face, and continued to do this business.
It was with Chen that we started our production in China. Now he has a small, so to speak, experimental workshop, where samples are worked out, the first samples are sewn, his office is also located there, where we solve all production issues. The main workshop is located 2 hours from Guangzhou, where our main batches are sewn.

Here we have the opportunity to order fabric, choosing from thousands of options, to look for accessories not in a small store, but in the whole city, which only sells buttons, laces, zippers and locks. All this can be immediately delivered to the factory and the first samples can be ordered immediately. Now we produce our jackets and raincoats in thousands of batches. Such volumes take time and that's it. preparatory work should be carried out as quickly and clearly as possible. China allows us to do this and allows us to develop in this area, constantly increasing the speed and quality of our production.

The combination of all these factors leaves no doubt that for the development of its own clothing brand, China is a powerful push forward, which gives new experience and, most importantly, makes it possible to think wider, develop and bring any ideas to life.

Last year we released our first jeans and that's another story. We went to a factory that opened new horizons for us and in the next part, we will tell about it in more detail.

Thank you for your attention and see you soon!
