Peg Perego Book Cross - walks in any terrain!

The Peg Perego Book Cross is a three-wheeled model with excellent cross-country ability, which is suitable for walks with a child wherever you are. It will easily overcome any city roads and curbs, as well as dirt roads in a park or outside the city!

The secret to the Book Cross's cross-country ability on any terrain is its large bearing wheels with spring shock absorbers that absorb unevenness. Thanks to the Easy Drive system, this model is ideal for easy maneuvering, which requires 30% less effort than conventional strollers. The front 360 ° swivel wheel can be locked for straight ahead.

The brake control is conveniently located on the handle. This will allow you to perform emergency braking if you need to brake sharply, for example, when descending a slope. An exclusive system on the chassis adjusts the front wheel in one movement, choosing between wheel rotation or locking. The handle itself can be adjusted in height for the comfort of the parent.

The Peg Perego Book Cross is incredibly convenient not only for parents, but also, most importantly, for a child! The reclining position of the backrest and footrest allows it to be used right from birth, even instead of a carrycot. A delightful daytime sleep for your baby is guaranteed!

The Peg Perego Book Cross Completo is walkable all year round, making it one of our best all-season strollers. In terms of equipment, the model resembles the winter Chicco Activ3, only more prepared for the summer.

Unlike its predecessor, the GT3, the stroller does not have such multi-layer upholstery, but the dense materials and deep hood provide good wind protection. In this case, the hood is so large that it drops down even when the backrest is reclining. In addition, even a large child in winter clothing can easily fit into the stroller. We especially liked the cape for the legs - it is very high and therefore will cover the baby up to the chin. To keep the little passenger cool in summer, a large mesh window opens in the hood. And in case of rain, a comfortable raincoat with a mesh for ventilation is provided.

Also worth noting is the practical footrest - it's covered in a leather-like material so it's easy to clean. But the stroller can hardly be called ideal, mothers in their reviews of the Peg Perego Book Cross Completo often note poor shock absorption - it is worse than in the GT3, because the design uses rubberized wheels rather than inflatable ones.

Security

For your baby's safety, the Peg Perego Book Cross has five-point harnesses and a front bumper.

The bumper is covered with a material similar to leather, so it does not cool children's hands like the plastic in the Peg Perego Book Completo. For a comfortable fit of the baby, it can be unfastened.

The seat belts are adjustable for the child's height - for this there are two additional pairs of slots in the backrest. But they lack the soft pads like in Happy Baby Neon Sport, which provide a more gentle support for the hanger.

Parental comfort

For the convenience of parents, the Peg Perego Book Cross is equipped with sophisticated mechanisms, but there are no additional accessories such as a bag or cup holder.

The handle is padded with foam, which is odd considering the high price tag of the Peg Perego Book Cross. When in contact with it, hands will not freeze, but the material easily absorbs dirt and is difficult to clean. In our opinion, it is much better when the handle is upholstered in eco-leather, as in Verdi Fox. And, of course, it doesn’t roll over - that feature isn’t included in tricycle models. But the handle can be adjusted in height to make it easier to control the stroller.

There is a large basket under the Peg Perego Book Cross seat that can accommodate bulky grocery bags, which will come in handy for moms who shop during their walks. It is convenient that it is accessible even when the backrest is lying, which is not found in every stroller. And for the little things that should always be at hand, there is a pocket. You can put a smartphone or wet wipes there, but it is not clear why the manufacturer made the pocket mesh - the contents are visible through it and it is not protected from rain.

So that you can watch the baby, there is a viewing window on the hood, which is hidden under the trim. The back is adjustable with straps. On the one hand, it is comfortable - the strap-backed back sways gently along the way. On the other hand, mothers may not be accustomed to such a system; they need to adapt to it.

The mechanisms of the model should be described separately - they are organized very conveniently. The brake control is located on the handle - you just need to push the lever. You don't have to stretch too far to lock the front swivel wheel, the switch is located under the bumper. In comparison, in conventional strollers, this is a lever on the wheel, often you have to press it manually, like in the BabyHit Rainbow.

Transport and dimensions

The stroller can hardly be called compact - it is longer and wider than conventional models, but lighter and more compact than the GT3.

The model weighs 10 kg - not much for a stroller with large wheels. Although if they were inflatable, then the model turned out to be much heavier. It will be easy to get her down the stairs, but only while the baby is small. Of course, the most convenient way is to go down to the street by an elevator, the main thing is to make sure that the stroller can enter it - the width of the model is 63 cm, and the elevator openings can be at the same. However, the Peg Perego Book Cross folds easily - you can see this by watching the video. In addition, when folded, the stroller stands without support - this is very convenient.

Cross-country ability and ease of control

Peg Perego Book Cross is a three-wheeled stroller with rubberized wheels. Its cross-country ability is slightly worse than that of models with inflatable tires, but in general, parents should have no difficulty walking around the city or park, even in the winter season. At the same time, the three-wheeled design makes the stroller more maneuverable. But if the spinning front wheel gets in the way on off-road sections of the track, then it can be blocked.

The stroller exceeded all my expectations, I was looking for a wide seat, but this is just some kind of house. As soon as the child was bought, he did not climb out of there for a week, he was sitting in the house, the width of the back and seat is 37cm, length is 96 from the beginning of the footrest to the edge of the headboard. The cover on the legs deeply covers the child, with our height of 74 cm, only eyes stick out, so most often I twist.
I read about large cracks in reviews on sites, I don’t know about people, but I don’t have any cracks, the material is dense, the wind does not blow, this has already been tried. We walked in snowy weather and nothing got wet, on my model the window on top does not close, there is a sun screen and a film.
Large roomy basket, there is a lever that can be lowered in 2 positions so that you can easily put a bag of groceries, checked!
Hand brake, 3 positions, I always put on the 2nd and it does not roll anywhere.
The set included a raincoat, it did not fit the entire hood.
The bumper is detached, for me this is a huge plus.
I also read about the front wheel, which is loose, we have been using it for a little more than two months and everything is in order.
Like everything, if I remember anything else I will add.

With the first and second child, I was in love with the peg-perego GT3 stroller. There is no more comfortable, soft and big seat. But the child has grown up and it has become difficult to carry a stroller that weighs very decently and several times a day ... And the choice fell on the Book cross. It looks more impressive, much lighter (I easily put it in the trunk, which was difficult with the GT3), very easy to operate (especially the handbrake), and the child is very comfortable in it, even in winter clothes. Excellent, waterproof fabric of the hood and the cover on the legs allows you not to worry about the forgotten raincoat))) The large hood hides from any bad weather. I will not even compare with other wheelchairs (although I have experience).

Initially, the GT-3 stroller was considered. But upon careful study, I noted with chagrin for myself that I would not pull such a weight, provided that there was no elevator in our house and I would have to drag the stroller to the fifth floor (with my "live weight" of 55kg). As the Babys store manager suggested to me, the Book Cross model came to Russia from the Italians to replace the GT-3, only it is much more compact and lighter.
For a couple of days I studied the reviews for this model (which turned out to be a meager amount, since the stroller is new). I made up my mind and placed an order. For my daughter I decided to choose the lightest and noblest colors of Versilia, it looks very rich in fact. The courier delivered everything to us the next day, but already in the late afternoon, so we carried out a test drive only a day after ordering.
"Gingerbread" for myself noted everything that, in principle, was declared from the manufacturer. Everything is true, everything is true.
Folding mechanism "book" (takes up very little space in our small corridor when folded).
3 large wheels made of foamed rubber (which will obviously facilitate cross-country ability in winter), and NOT INFLATABLE as I have read on other sites in the description!
The weight is only 10 kg, which, in fact, is not a weight for a full-fledged all-terrain vehicle.
It is possible to install a cradle (we do not need it, but what if a second baby will appear later?) And car seats
The walking block is replaceable (the ability to install a walking block of a different color, for example)
Five-point seat belts
Large hood
Handbrake (very thoughtful, just like on the GT-3)
Shopping basket - large
There is also a bumper and rain cover included.
I can safely summarize that the Beech Cross has come to replace the GT-3 with dignity (even though I didn’t use it, but according to the reviews, the conclusions were great about this stroller)!
I advise everyone who wants to have a GT-3, pay attention to the "younger brother"!)))

The Peg-Perego Book Cross stroller is an ultra-maneuverable three-wheeled novelty from the Italian brand that is extremely easy to drive. A tapered front axle with a rotating wheel allows the stroller to be deployed in the narrowest aisle of the store. The Peg-Perego Book Cross has oversized wheels so as not to restrict your freedom of movement. Country roads, city sidewalks, snow and spring slush - the Peg-Perego Book Cross stroller will go with you to any place in any weather. A dense hood together with a clutch on the legs will protect the baby from bad weather and precipitation, making walks comfortable in any season. As expected, the back of the stroller seat folds out. Thus, it, together with the raised leg rest, forms a super comfortable place to sleep. Thanks to this, this model can be used from the first months of a baby's life.
