Herbs in business - we make aromasache. Making sachets - from a fragrant hobby to your own business

Natural ingredients are most often used as stuffing: zest, fragrant herbs, flower petals, pine needles, tree bark, sea salt, vanilla sticks or cinnamon - the choice is almost limitless. 2. hang in the car instead of air freshener

To sew a scented pillow with your own hands, you need to prepare:

2 identical parts are cut out of a flap of fabric: rectangles or squares, not forgetting to add 1 cm to each side (seam allowances). You can also make a sachet in the form of a heart or any other shape, for this it is first better to depict the desired shape of the future product on paper, and then cut it out and use it as a pattern.

If you plan to decorate the cover with embroidery, then it is more convenient to do this until the details are sewn.

For an aroma massage made in the form of a bag, you need to grind 3 sides of the parts folded together with the front side inward. Then the finished product is turned inside out, the outer edge is processed, stuffed with any filler and tied with a ribbon.

If the shape of the aromasache cover is a pillow, heart or other shape, you need to grind all sides, leaving a small unstitched area on one of them. Through it, the product is turned inside out and stuffed, and then carefully sewn up from the outside.

How to fill the Scented Sachet?

Possible options:
  1. Dry herbs. You can collect aromatic mixtures yourself in the summer or buy ready-made ones at the pharmacy. First, the plants are crushed to enhance the odor emanating from them. This can be done using a coffee grinder, blender or mortar. The crushed composition is sieved to get rid of very fine powder, the rest is poured into a bowl. Essential oils are added there to give a more intense aroma to the filler. Most common lavender sachet (no additional grinding required)

  2. Sintepon. The pad is stuffed with artificial fibers, sewn up, and then, after drawing oil into a syringe, they pierce the tissue with a needle in several places, injecting liquid.

  3. Sea salt, pine needle. Pour the mixture into a bowl, drip aromatic oils, then stuff a pillow with it.

  4. Sawdust - perfectly retain the aroma, can be purchased in any department of pet supplies (just take odorless sawdust)
Large ingredients - vanilla sticks, tree bark, plant roots - will look spectacular in a sachet sewn from translucent fabric (organza, lace). They are also dripped with oil before being placed inside the case.

What oils should I use for aroma oil?

Essential oils can act in a variety of ways: invigorate, calm, improve your mood, or relax. Therefore, it is important to select fragrances based on where the scented pads will be used.

Lavender adjusts to a positive mood, eliminates depressive thoughts, relaxes, fights insomnia.
the Rose relieves stress.
Oregano helps to forget about problems and difficulties with sleep.
Peppermint fights neuroses, evens out the energy balance.

Geranium and Valerian- antidepressants.

For cabinet

The most popular wardrobe sachet scent is lavender. Besides the pleasant smell, the scented pouch will protect things from moths.

Other possible solutions: rose, mint, lemon, rosemary, ylang ylang oil. For a shelf with bed linen, a lemon balm scent is suitable.

For kitchen

Sachets for the kitchen are filled with spices or aromatic herbs.

A good option is coffee essential oil. It promotes awakening, eliminates drowsiness, increases concentration, increases efficiency. Coffee oil has a special property - it enhances the pleasure that a person receives in the process of any activity. So, making a sachet with the smell of coffee, you can turn routine cooking into an exciting experience.

Mint restores strength, fights fatigue, nervous excitement, helps to eliminate unpleasant thoughts.
Cinnamon relieves stress, awakens the craving for activity, enhances sensitivity, improves digestion
Citrus invigorate, tune in to a productive working day, relieve depression and fatigue of the eye muscles.

For bathroom

Since there is high humidity in the bathroom, and the filler will damp very quickly, they do not use dry herbs here, but bags filled with salt. Sea salt can be mixed with beeswax and then add essential oil to this mass.

To create an invigorating scent in the bathroom, they use oils of clove, pine needles, sage, rose, basil and rosemary. To relax, apply aroma oil with chamomile, lavender, myrrh and frankincense essential oils.

For auto

When driving, it is important to focus, therefore, substances with invigorating aromas are used to fill the sachets.
Tea tree oil relieves fatigue and weakness, increases attentiveness, helps in stressful situations, repels insects.
Fennel essential oil eliminates the smell of tobacco, has an anti-stress effect, reduces nervousness.
Basil helps to concentrate and improves memory.
Laurel and lemongrass reduces fatigue, increases attentiveness.
Lemon helps to cope with nausea.
Verbena invigorates, reduces irritability, improves mood and stimulates mental activity.
Grapefruit helps to fight sleepiness while driving, increases activity, improves mood, relieves aggression.
Patchouli increases vigor and readiness for action, speeds up the reaction, gives a boost of optimism.

Whichever filler is chosen, every 3-4 months it must be replaced with a new one - after this period, almost all the aroma is exhausted, and the sachet loses its properties.

What natural scents to use at home and how to make a sachet at home are interrelated questions. Indeed, to create comfort in the house, it is not at all necessary to constantly buy expensive bouquets of fresh flowers. You can also fill the room with a pleasant and relaxing scent with a dry plant sachet.

How to make a sachet at home from dry plants

Sachet is a word of French origin, it is translated as "bag". Several centuries ago, wealthy Parisians hung small silk bags filled with fragrant herbs or flower petals in their homes. This tradition has survived to this day.

A good aroma in the house has been appreciated at all times and now it is also relevant. That is why today, when you come to visit someone, you can often see miniature bags in the kitchen, in the bedroom or in the living room. Moreover, for each separate room, a unique collection with a special aroma is selected. And most often, sachets for the home are made by hand, since it is the hostess who can choose the aromas for the temperament of each family member and common rooms.

How to make a sachet yourself?

You need to take a small bag (bag) made of natural fabric. It can be burlap, linen or cotton. This fabric allows air to pass through well, so that the fragrant aroma will spread unhindered throughout the house. The bag can be bought ready-made, or even better to sew a sachet with your own hands, choosing the color and size according to your preferences.

DIY sachet fillers

What to use as filling? The herbs can be picked by yourself and then dried in a shaded area. Those who do not have such an opportunity are advised to buy ready-made raw materials. Dried citrus peels, coffee beans and other products with a strong persistent smell will also serve as an excellent filler. But it is important to remember that some of them can cause allergic reactions.

It is advisable to mix the components for the sachet in a large container, so it is easier to adjust the aroma and quantity of herbs. For men's sachets, it is better to use spicy fillings, and for women's sachets, more delicate aromas. For example, a combination of basil, lemongrass and birch bark - three strong enough ingredients - is suitable for men, while women will like a sachet of peony, rose and mint leaves. If the herbs or inflorescences are too large, then grind them a little so that they give off a better smell.

Scented sachets can be used and placed anywhere: in the car, in the closet, in the kitchen, in the nursery or in the bathroom. A “calm” mixture of rose petals, lavender and yarrow is suitable for the bedroom. And by the way, do not forget that some of the additives in the sachet can also be used as mosquito repellant plants.

But rosemary, thyme, mint and lemon balm will help to maintain immunity during the period of rampant colds. For the kitchen - lavender, rose petals and sage. In the nursery, you can leave a bag of chamomile, lavender and rose petals.

Want to find your own scent? Then you have to experiment a little. Whatever it turns out, the house will still be filled with coziness, comfort and an unforgettable aroma. We hope these ideas on how to make a sachet at home will be helpful and you can easily find natural flavors for yourself.

Sachet
1) a small decorative pillow, scented or filled with solid aromatic substances, which is placed in the laundry to give it a pleasant scent;
2) type of cosmetic bag: a small decorative cloth bag in the form of an envelope, decorated with embroidery and ribbons, in which handkerchiefs, combs, hairpins, etc. are kept;
3) a cloth bag with a large number of compartments for storing small items of haberdashery.
[Fr. sachet - bag, sachet, from sac - bag, bag< лат. saccus — мешок, сумка < греч. sakkos — мешок.]

Scented sachets have been bringing a particle of warmth and comfort into our lives for several centuries.

Previously, sachets were made from a variety of materials from leather to sea shells, nowadays sachets are made of fabric and come in a variety of sizes, the most optimal size is the size of the palm

Of course, our great-great-grandmothers also knew the secret of the sachet. They did not know such a word, but they collected fragrant medicinal herbs and made pillows from them, on which they slept, covered with meadow or forest aromas.

The arrogant British have invented their own version of the sachet - they still scent the linen in their bedrooms with carved wooden figurines, which, however, are quite easily exhausted.

The Soviet version of the sachet - scented soap - not only perfectly smelled the contents of the cabinets, but also drove away impudent moths.

The Indians have a tradition: in memory of every good event, they dry various odorous objects associated with it. From time to time, they breathe in their scent and relive the happiest days of their lives.

Sasha is a great gift, it is not only a purely practical thing, but also a way to demonstrate your care and friendship to a loved one.

Sachet scent should be chosen wisely and tastefully.

Bedding made from natural fabrics retains the scent for a long time and if you have already stopped loving it, even washing may not help get rid of the persistent smell.

This accessory can be placed in a dresser drawer or on a wardrobe shelf, it will fill your linen with an unobtrusive but persistent scent of rose, flowers, forest or cinnamon.

Charming in their simplicity, cotton sachets create a special atmosphere in the dressing room, in addition, thanks to them, clothes will always be fresh and fragrant.

How and how to fill the sachet:

you can use dried oregano (this is a very effective fragrance for linen and clothes), dried lavender, mint, black currant leaves, rose petals, orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves. You can also buy ready-made mixes for sachets (you can find very interesting options in stores, for example, with the smell of the sea).

For this you will need:

For embroidery, I used this scheme (slightly changed the palette and composition), by Sophie Helene:

  1. Embroider any picture you like in advance. It took me four days to embroider. Embroidered with millimeter crosses. The size of the embroidery is determined by a frame prepared in advance. The frame can be of any material, I prefer wood. It is better to embroider on a harsh coarse calico. This fabric has a weave of threads convenient for embroidery and it is not too loose, grass dust will not spill out.
  2. Trying on the embroidery for the frame. We put points in the corners. From these points, draw lines to the corners of the embroidery to form a parallelepipid-shaped pouch.
  3. Focusing on the marked points, fold the fabric. First, along the perimeter from point to point, then we lay diagonals from the set points to the edges of the corners of the fabric.
  4. We bend the corners inward and sew perpendicular to the main part of the embroidery. We sew from the inner corner to the outer edge. We do not bring the seam to the edge. This will allow the outer edge to be folded outward afterwards.
  5. You should get a shape that looks like a box lid.
  6. Bend the edge outward evenly around the perimeter. The width of the folded part should be equal to the inner lip in the frame. The back of the frame rests on this protrusion.
  7. Checking symmetry and level. There should be no distortions.
  8. Trying on the frame.
  9. We check how the protruding part of the bag looks.
  10. Cut out two rectangles for the back wall of the bag. The lower one is the main part, the upper one is the valve.
  11. We cut off the bottom part with embroidery.
  12. We pin the valve.
  13. Checking symmetry and level.
  14. We sew. I sewed with a needle back stitch.
  15. Iron the stitched edges.
  16. The result is a bag with a slot for stuffing. Subsequently, the bag can be removed from the frame and the filling can be changed.
  17. Trying on the bag for the frame. We fill with aromatic herbs.

In order for the bag to keep its beautiful shape, I fill it with holofiber. Ironing over the embroidery. The shape becomes more streamlined. After I take out almost all the holofiber, I leave it just a little at the bottom so that the bag does not sag. And I fill it with herbs, flowers, spices. You can use an essential oil for a brighter aroma or coffee bean. In this sachet, I put mint leaves and flowers, coffee beans and lemon and tangerine peels. Very aromatic!

The frame was additionally decorated. To begin with, I painted it with latex paint (intended for wooden surfaces). The paint is thick. The brush is hard with an uneven (ragged) edge. The paint has ridged. She dyed along the fibers. I painted over from all sides. The paint was completely dry in two hours.

Then she applied a drawing with a simple pencil - an improvisation on the theme of the embroidered motif. Painted with acrylics. For the main drawing, I mixed blue and brown. Added "volume" with white and bronze paint.

Everything. Sasha in a wooden frame is ready.

Aromatic pads are one of the most ancient methods of aromatherapy, which still does not lose its relevance and popularity today. Sachets, affordable and easy to make, allowing you to fill your home and your favorite things with a magical aroma, were once considered an invariable attribute of every lady's house and a real hostess. And although today they rather appear as one of the many means of aromatherapy, aromatic pads do not lose their relevance.

Sachets are simple small pillows or small bags filled with fragrant eco-friendly materials - twigs, petals, herbs, spices, pine needles. In order for dried flowers and other plant materials to retain the smell longer and create a brighter aromatic background, essential oils are also added to the filler when making sachets. They allow, in addition to the general effect, to use the sachet to change the emotional background, prevent diseases.

Scented sachets are a great personal gift - especially if they are handmade.

How to use the sachet

Most often, sachets are used for aromatizing dressers and wardrobes with clothes, for aromatizing bed linen and other things. Of course, a simple pillow can be used as a fragrant one, but with skillful decoration, sachets can become a real decoration of a room: laid out on shelves or in baskets, they will attract the eyes and envelop the room with a subtle pleasant aroma.

  • Near the bed (if you use soothing aromas) sachets will be an excellent tool to help you relax and calm down, get rid of sleep disturbances, etc.
  • Near the workplace, impregnated with suitable exposure, they will stimulate performance and concentration.
  • In the living room, sachets will be a great addition for a family vacation or romantic get-togethers.

If ribbons and loops are sewn to the sachet, they can be hung on hangers, shelves, drawer handles and dresser sections. And although many superstitions have already sunk into oblivion, sachet is often still perceived as a kind of home amulet, a means of protecting the house from negative energy and bad intentions.

The sachet can be bought at aromatherapy stores, pharmacies or souvenir shops, or you can easily make it yourself. So, any cotton and mesh fabric can turn into a primitive bag or pillow in a few seconds of working with a thread and a needle, and you can simply intercept a handkerchief with a ribbon if you are really too lazy to sew.

Fillers and essential oils

As for filling, the most popular materials are lavender, thyme and lemon balm, as well as spices - oregano, basil, dill. To them, you can add any dried flowers, fruits and seasonings that you and your loved ones like.

Some materials are associated with certain sacred properties.

  • It is believed that the best option for a romantic sachet is a filling of rose petals, orange peel, as well as sage and gypsophila.
  • A mixture of patchouli, cinnamon and cloves, according to legend, attracts wealth.
  • Basil, dill, laurel, fennel, rosemary and fern leaves with a handful of salt protect the home from evil spirits.

Essential oils are added to the filler, after dissolving them in a teaspoon of alcohol or vodka. Usually, 5 drops of aromatic oil or a mixture of different essential oils are used for 10 grams of plant materials.

The materials mixed in the container are sprayed with the prepared aromatic mixture, mixed thoroughly, left to "soak" for at least half an hour in a closed container, and only then are the bags and pads filled with them. This allows essential oils to retain their aroma longer. You can just drop a few drops on the finished sachet.

There is another way - not to use a plant base, but to fill the bag with absorbent material - finely chopped padding polyester, foam rubber, sponge, cotton wool, knitted cloth. Essential oils are simply dripped onto a small piece, and after the sachet is filled, the aromatic ball is "buried" inside the rest of the material.

The aroma of the sachet almost completely disappears in the best case after 5 days, and most often after 2 days, you will have to "add" essential oils to it. If we are talking about natural materials, then essential oils drip onto the pillow or into the middle, if we are talking about an artificial filler, they soak part of the filler and again “bury” it inside the sachet.

  • A classic combination of essential oils for a versatile sachet -

A sachet (fr. Sachet) is a small bag containing a mixture of aromatic herbs. For a long time, these bags have been popular in many families. They refreshed the house, attracted luck and love, and even drove away the dark forces. Although you can buy ready-made sachets in souvenir shops, if they are made with your own hands, they seem to fill the house with coziness and a pleasant atmosphere.

For manufacturing you will need:

Bag fabric;
threads with a needle;
scissors;
beads and various braids for decoration;
a mixture of dry herbs;
essential oil.

The filling bag can be made of any fabric. The main thing is that it is not very dense. It can be organza, cotton, silk or linen. Also, they combine several fabrics, it all depends on the imagination of the craftswoman. The product can be decorated with embroidery that matches the type or purpose of the aroma filling. A small pillow, heart, animal figurines or a beautifully designed pouch - this is what a modern sachet looks like.

First you need to make the desired pattern on paper. According to this template, the details of the sachet are cut out, not forgetting to make allowances for the seams. Then, folded inward with the front sides, the parts are sewn by hand or grinded on a sewing machine. It is necessary to leave a small piece of the product without stitching to fill with herbs. Sasha is turned on the front side. If you plan to decorate the bag with embroidery, this is done before the details are grinded. The finished product can be decorated with beads, bugles, lace or braid.

For the preparation of an aromatic mixture of herbs, you can buy at the pharmacy or prepare yourself in the summer. In order for dry plants to fully give off their aroma, they are ground by hand in a mortar or coffee grinder. Then they sift, add a few drops of essential oil and leave for a couple of days in a sealed container so that the herbs are infused and soaked in oil. The finished mixture is poured into a sachet and the bag is tightly sewn up or tied with a decorative ribbon. The filler is changed every 3-4 months.

5) Fillers for the scent bag can be any. The most common formulations are: mint in combination with cloves, rose in a composition with lavender, lemon, cloves and rosemary. To just smell romance in the bedroom, lay out a sachet with this mixture: mix equal amounts of chamomile, rose petals, rosemary and cloves, sew in bags... Melissa, lavender, chamomile, oregano and thyme promote sound sleep. A bag of lavender placed in a wardrobe will chase away unwanted moths.

6) It is believed that if you sew a bag of green fabric and put two parts of cloves, three parts of patchouli and one part of cinnamon there, it will attract money. If you want to sew a sachet for a motorist, then choose a red material, put in a double portion of rosemary and juniper, and a single comfrey, cumin and wormwood. Such a charm is hidden from prying eyes. And in order to protect your home, a red product is placed on the highest place, which is filled with the following mixture: three equal parts of basil and rosemary, two parts of dill and fennel seeds, one part of fern, laurel and a pinch of salt.

Scented sachets can soak bed linen, clothes, and serve as part of the interior. In this case, a mixture of dry petals, herbs and spices can be placed in a decorative basket or vase. A cotton bag containing the herbal mixture is lowered into a filled bath. In addition, an exquisitely decorated sachet will serve as an original and pleasant gift.
