Common sense, the experience of many generations tells us: there are situations when tolerance becomes a connivance for sloppiness, laziness, and criminal inactivity. In situations requiring decisiveness, one must act decisively, speak, demand. In the most extreme cases, even on their knees - this is how mothers ask for their children.

Between patience and tolerance

I foresee a question, it is logical: why, for what do good, innocent people suffer? Why do they find themselves so often dependent on others, careless or just lazy "specialists"? Alas, this can only be partially explained: human nature itself is imperfect. But I think it’s impossible to justify a specific failure to perform official duties. It is our civil right to make statements and complaints, to make the facts public, to talk about what is really going on.

And I must also say about one of our human phenomena. People are often ready to cover up the worst deed of a petty official, just not to spoil relations "for the future." This is not patience, but a covering. This is a guarantee that a person who commits, for example, violations of office, will repeat them and will believe in their impunity.

"How, is he still alive ?!"

… My mother took care of her husband, my father for eighteen years. He was a disabled person of the first group. Doctors sometimes did not hide their surprise: how, is he still alive ?! And they often told my mother that she knows no worse than any doctor what drugs and in what dosages to inject in cases of complications. My mother, a simple woman, boldly went to the heads of the polyclinic, to the chief doctors in cases of need, received referrals for my father for examination at the republican hospital. By God's grace and mother's concerns, the father lived to be 74 years old and died peacefully, in a clear state, waiting for his mother to come to his ward.

I can only guess how much patience it took in the life of my grandmother who gave birth to twelve children. But I remembered her not grumbling, but all the time at work - at sewing, at the preparation of dinner, at letters to numerous relatives.

I think there is a very productive, very promising point of view on most problem situations: if a problem has arisen in front of me, in front of my family and it inevitably has to be solved, then it must be… solved. This, at a minimum, means that a person includes his internal, previously unused (maybe previously unknown to himself) resources. As they say, we turn on the head! We determine how, with whom, in what sequence we will act.

From patience - experience, from experience - hope

An active, persistent person evokes not only respect (“wow, what a character!”). He has more allies, those who are willing and able to help. They are more attentive to him in bureaucratic offices, in hospitals, in transport, in housing and communal services and so on.

For people who draw spiritual knowledge from Scripture, there are wise words that must be memorized from childhood: "From patience - experience, from experience - hope." (Romans, ch. 5, verse 4). Muslims are well aware that sabr (patience - Arabic) is half of the religion. Without patience, it is impossible to grasp the essence of life, religion, professional knowledge, to understand other people and ... yourself.

Learning patience means acquiring new character traits - stamina, consistency, the ability to navigate new circumstances. That is, the psychophysiological characteristics of a person change, the structure of his personality is updated. By gaining new experience, we really gain confidence that we can cope with many problems. Think about it: confidence is the foundation of hope.
