Nowadays it has become an amazing attraction for the whole family. It is impossible to make such a transport for flights on your own, but for a child's launch into the sky it is a great idea.

The basics of craftsmanship

First of all, you need to know the constituent parts. It consists of a dome sewn from a durable material, a basket and a burner.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a launch ball with a diameter of 2 meters. So let's get started:

• first, prepare a template according to the scheme. Make a pattern on it on cardboard;
• the segments themselves are made of paper, preferably cigarette paper, if it does not fit the given size, it can be glued, this will not affect the quality of the idea in any way;
• after gluing the segments, cut out the blanks from cardboard, the template is ready;
• attach the sample to tissue paper and cut 16 pieces out of it. Do not forget to leave one centimeter to allow for further bonding;
• glue the finished segments two at a time, then connect all the pairs together, but leave one seam;
• turn out the shell and glue the last seam;
• cut two rectangular strips from cardboard and use it to fasten the base. Then, attach two strong, thick threads to them, which will allow you to hold the ball when it heats up;
• cut out a circle to fit the dome and glue on top to fill in the gaps left during gluing;
• preheat the blowtorch and use it to straighten the ball;
• take the finished dome by the twine and make a fire under it.

When the air warms up in the balloon, it is ready to launch.

To do this, we need multi-colored balls (round), balls of the smallest diameter, balls for modeling, double-sided tape and markers, depending on the intended character.

Take a large round balloon and inflate it. With the help of small ones, make legs and handles, attach with double-sided tape. Model the ears or headdress using the modeled balls and draw with a marker: eyes, nose, mouth. • next, take a large ball and attach it to the base with tape;
• Then, we need to make a neck from the balls for modeling. Fold as shown and attach to the body;

• inflate a 45 cm balloon, slightly smaller than the body, draw a muzzle on it with a marker and glue it to the neck;
• use the smallest balls to make pens;
• it remains to make only ears, they are made very simply. From modeling balls, make eights in pairs and attach to the head.

Quite simple. If you want a one-color ball or a multi-color ball, then just cut out the pieces from the selected felt according to the template and sew them. Below are two options for sewing more interesting design balls.

Consider Option I

Cut 8 pieces out of blue felt. Then in free form arrows and triangles from yellow. If you are not sure, then create a template on paper first. Gently sew the yellow pieces onto the future face of the ball.

Sew 8 pieces together. By hand, neatly, with blue thread to match the color of felt. Leave one side open for turning and filling the ball.

Let's fill the ball with synthetic fluff. Tight enough.

Sew the bottom of the ball carefully.

Option II

Cut out 4 pieces of pieces (red and white felt in this case) according to the largest size of the template. It will be easier to sew. Let's cut the pieces so as to compose and match the colors with each other. The parts can be secured with adhesive tape and then sewn on with yellow thread.

The final step of any option is to attach the cork on three strands. The cork can be taken from the wine by cutting it into three parts. From champagne to the largest bowl size. You can remove the inscriptions, which are often on corks, using sandpaper.

Use a line to secure the resulting balls to a hoop or any other suitable part for your mobile. Thus, it will feel like the balloons are hovering. Additionally, you can sew a couple of clouds from white felt.
