Crochet cord. How to knit a lace with knitting needles: knitting patterns for decorative laces

Hello needlewomen! In this lesson, you will learn how to knit cords with knitting needles and what they are.

.

1. Cord with two loops

This cord can be knitted in 2 ways. First way. Having typed 2 loops, remove the first loop in the usual way, that is, with a pigtail along the edge, and knit the second with a purl.

Turn the work over and repeat this row again. Second way. Cast on 2 loops, knit them, then move the loops to the left knitting needle, leaving the working thread at the back.

Note that this method does not rotate the work. Knit again with knit stitches and re-sew them onto the left knitting needle.

2. Round cord with 3 loops

To knit this cord, you need to take 2 stocking needles, both ends of which are working.Cast on 3 loops, knit them with the front ones, then move the knitted loops to the other end of the knitting needles and knit them again with the front loops, passing the working thread from the back. Please note that with this knitting, the work does not actually turn.

3. Round cord with 4 loops

Cast on 4 loops on the stocking needles and knit this cord in the same way as the 3-loop cord.

4. Flat cord on 3 loops with looped edges

Cast on 3 loops, remove the first loop, and purl the other 2. Turn the work and remove the first loop again, and knit 2 loops with purl loops.

5. Cord on 2 loops of knots

Cast on 2 loops. Knit 2 knit stitches. Turn the job. Remove the first loop so that a knot forms along the edge.

To do this, remove the loop in the usual way, without straightening the thread, but simply transferring it to work. Knit the second loop with the front one. Repeat this row until the cord is the length you want.

.

6. Flat cord on 3 loops with knotted edges

Cast on 3 loops. Knit them with front loops. Turn the job. Remove the first stitch to form a knot. 2 Knit the next stitches.

Turn the work again and, having removed the first loop with a knot, knit 2 front loops. Repeat this row until the cord is the length you want.

7. Convex cord on 3 loops with knotted edges.

This cord is knitted in 2 rows. Cast on 3 loops. 1 row, remove the first loop with a knot, then knit 2 face loops. 2 row remove the first loop with a knot, then knit 1 purl loop and 1 front loop. Repeat these 2 rows.

8. Cord with a thickened edge on 5 loops

The cord is knitted in 2 rows. Cast on 5 loops. 1 row Remove 1 loop with a knot, knit 2 loops together with the front one, make 1 yarn over, remove 1 loop, leaving a working thread at the back, end row 1 with a purl loop. 2 row Remove 1 loop without knot, 1 purl loop, 3 knit loops. Repeat these 2 rows until the cord is the length you want.

9. Complicated cord

Cast on 2 loops. Before the beginning of the row, bring the free knitting needle under the working thread on the finger and, holding this thread, move it to the front side, as when knitting a purl loop.

Remove the first stitch and knit the last stitch. The knitting needle will have 3 loops, one of which is formed before the start of knitting a row.

Then use the knitting needle to pass the second loop over the one just knitted. You will have 2 loops on the spoke again. Turn the work over and repeat the row.

10. Flat openwork cord with knotted edges

Cast on 3 sts. 1 row: remove 1 loop with a knot, 2 yarns, 2 knit loops together. 2nd row: remove 1 loop with a knot, purl 1 from the yarn, lower the second yarn, 1 knit. Repeat these 2 rows until the desired cord length.

Crocheting is probably the easiest way to crochet cords. But even with all the simplicity of knitting, there are several options for crochet cords.

1) The easiest is to knit a simple chain of air loops. Especially well such cords are obtained from thick yarns or yarns in several folds.

2) The second, a little more interesting, is to tie a chain and knit a row of connecting posts along it.

3) The third is to tie a chain and knit a row of double crochets (this is not even a cord, but rather a ribbon).

4) The fourth, already full-fledged lace - take several threads (from several balls, for example), from 3 or more, knot all the ends. From one thread, tie an air loop and stretch the second thread through it, then the third, and so on. Actually, in fact, the entire cord is knitted with air loops, but in appearance it will differ from a cord knitted. The spoke cord is knitted with the front ones, and the hook cord looks like a store cord, like a shoe cord.
The method is very convenient, in addition, you can make multi-colored cords, for this you need to take yarn of different colors, it turns out very beautifully.

Now let's look at knitting with knitting needles.
3-5-7 loops are typed, depending on the thickness of the yarn and 1 row is knitted on them (without any hem). Then the loops from the right knitting needle are transferred to the left, we do not turn it over to the wrong side. Next, we knit the 2nd row, again we transfer the loops, and we knit the next one, and so on.

Of course, it is most convenient to knit such cords on short stocking needles; there is no need to transfer the loops from one to the other - they simply move to the other end of the knitting needle.

Another very curious way is on the reel.
On one side, the coils are driven in at the same distance from the center of 4 studs.
Carnations should be capless, 0.5-0.7 mm high. The end of the thread is lowered into the hole in the spool and pulled out from below.
The thread from the ball is drawn around the studs (from left to right) so that a loop lies on the spool.
A second thread is drawn around the 1st carnation from above, the 1st lower thread is crocheted and thrown over the carnation (Fig. A).
A loop-thread remained on the carnation, which was circled around it a second time. Crochet the lower thread near the next carnation (Fig. B).
This is done in turn on each carnation. Each time, removing the loop from the stud, pull up the end of the thread from the bottom of the spool.
So, moving the thread in a circle from one nail to another, they knit a cord that comes out from the bottom of the coil. Having tied the cord of the required length, the loops are removed from the nails and fixed together with a needle.

Well, and finally - a way for the laziest.

I bring to your attention several ways to knit such cords.
1. Cord with two loops
Such
the cord can be knitted in 2 ways. First way. We collect 2 loops,

we knit the second out. We turn the work and repeat this row again.
So we knit until the cord reaches the desired length. Second way. Dial 2
loops. Knit their faces., Then transfer the loops to the left knitting needle, leaving the working thread at the back. Note that in this way the work

does not turn. Knit again with knit stitches and reshoot again
them on the left knitting needle.
2. Round cord with 3 loops
For knitting this
the cord needs 2 knitting needles, both ends of which are working. Dial 3
pet., knit them with the front ones, then move the knitted loops to
the other end of the knitting needle and knit them again. pet., drawing a working thread
behind. Please note that with this knitting, the work is actually not
turns over.
3. Round cord with 4 loops
Dial 4 pet. on the knitting needles and knit this cord in the same way as the 3-loop cord.
4. Flat cord on 3 loops with looped edge
Dial
3 sts., Remove the first loop, knit 2 others. Turn work and
remove the first loop again, and 2 pet. Knit out.
5. Cord on 2 loops of knots
Dial
2 pet. Work 2 persons. pet. Turn the job. The first pet. Take it off so
so that a knot forms around the edge. To do this, remove the loop with the usual
way, not straightening the thread, but simply transferring it to work. Second loop
knit persons. Repeat this row until the cord is the correct length.
6. Flat cord on 3 loops with knotted edges.
Dial
3 pet. Tie their faces. pet. Turn the job. Remove the first pet. from
the formation of a nodule. 2 next pet. knit persons. Turn again
work and removing the first pet. with a knot, knit 2 persons. pet. Repeat
this row until the cord is the desired length.
7. Convex cord on 3 loops with knotted edges.
This cord is knitted in 2 rows. Dial 3 pet.
1 row: remove the first stitch with a knot, then knit 2 persons. pet.
2nd row: first pet. remove with a knot, then knit 1 out. pet. and 1 person. pet. Repeat these 2 rows.
8. Cord with a thickened edge on 5 loops The cord is tied in 2 rows. Dial 5 pet.
1
row: 1 pet. remove with a knot, 2 pet. knit persons together., do
yarn, 1 pet. remove, leaving the working thread at the back, end row 1 out.
2nd row: 1 pet. remove without knot, 1 out. pet., 3 persons. Repeat these 2 rows until the cord is the length you want.
9. Complicated cord
Dial
2 pet. Before starting the row, move the free knitting needle under the working thread for
finger and, holding this thread, move it to the front side, as
when knitting a purl loop. Remove the first stitch and knit the last
pet. facial. The needle will have 3 pet., One of which is formed
before starting knitting a row. Then with the left knitting needle, throw the second loop
through the just linked. You will have 2 loops on the spoke again.
Turn the work over and repeat the row.
10. Flat openwork cord with knotted edges
Dial 3 pet.
1 row: 1 pet. remove with a knot, 2 yarns, 2 pet. together persons.
2
row: 1 pet. remove with a knot, 1 out. from the yarn, lower the second yarn,
1 persons. pet. Repeat these 2 rows until the desired cord length.

Another way.

This method can be used to make flat and bulky cords from all types of yarn.

On one knitting needle from a set of stocking knitting needles, cast from 3 to 10 loops, * move the loops to the end of the knitting needles (without turning!), Pull the thread behind the loops and knit all the loops with the front loops, repeat from *.

After a few rows, stretch the cord lengthwise to better distribute the stitches.

Whether you need a bag drawstring, a hat tie, or a bag string, you have many options for making it.

Twisted cord

Calculate how long your lace should be. Add another third to this length, and then cut a piece of yarn four times as long.

Fold a piece of yarn in half and make a knot on each side. Have a friend grab the folded end, or hang the end from the door handle.

Twist the yarn until the cord is very tightly woven, trying to stretch it all the time. Pinch the yarn in the middle, then fold it in half, being careful to stretch the cord all the way. (If you want to make a long cord, you need an assistant.)

Slowly release a few centimeters from the folded end of the cord to allow the cord to roll back on its own. As a result, you will have a sturdy four-strand cord (Figure 1).

Braided braid

Calculate how long your lace should be, then add half more to that length. You will need at least three pieces of yarn of this length. If you want to make a thick cord, you can double or even triple the number of threads. Tie the threads in a knot at one end, hang the knot on a hook, attach to a board, or use a stapler. Begin to weave a three-strand braid, alternately placing the right thread on the center, then the left on the center, and so on. When you braid the braid, tie the other end in a knot.

Cord-binding

Take two knitting needles and cast on three or four stitches.

* Knit them with front loops. Move the stitches back to the other end of the spoke, without turning the job... Pull the yarn tight.

Repeat from * until you tie the length you want. This cord is similar to those cords that are knitted with special devices. On stocking needles, the cord knits faster.

You can buy a special tool for knitting such cords, and with one turn of the handle you will quickly knit it. Examples of such devices:

Cord in the start and end rows

Cast on as many loops as you need for the cord, and then close all loops in the next row. Do not tighten the loops too tight or the cord will turn into a coil.

Cord braided on the fingers

For this cord, take two skeins of yarn of different colors.

1. Make a slip knot at the end of one strand and place the loop over one index finger. In the same hand, take the second thread and hold it together with the first. Insert your other index finger into the loop and pull on the new second color loop (Figure 2).

2. Remove the thread of the first color from the index finger, shift the ends of the thread in the other hand and pull the working end of the thread of the first color to tighten the loop (fig. 3).

Continue to pull the contrasting buttonhole through the buttonhole for finger and tighten the old yarn until you have braided the length you want. Cut off both threads, then pull one end through the last loop of the other color and tighten (Figure 4).

Cord tied on a spool

From the end side, the coils are driven in at the same distance from center 4 studs (Fig. 5).

Carnations should be capless, 0.5-0.7 mm high. The end of the thread is passed into the hole in the spool and pulled out from below (Fig. 6).

The thread from the ball is drawn around the studs (from left to right) so that a loop lies on the spool (Figure 6, spool on the right).

A second thread is drawn around the 1st carnation from above, the 1st lower thread is crocheted and thrown over the carnation. A loop-thread remained on the carnation, which was circled around it a second time. Crochet the bobbin thread near the next carnation This is done alternately on each carnation. Each time you remove the loop from the stud, pull up the end of the thread from the bottom of the spool (Figure 7).

So, moving the thread in a circle from one nail to another, they knit a cord that comes out from the bottom of the coil. Having tied the cord of the required length, the loops are removed from the nails and fixed together with a needle.

You need to crochet a cord and don't know how to do it? Then here you will find a detailed step-by-step master class in photos, plus an understandable video on this issue. Today we will crochet a triangular cord!

What can a cord be useful for? I use these cords for children's warm lined hats - as ties. Such a cord does not stretch, and it is easier to untie it than thinner ties, plus it does not cut under the chin of a child, and besides, such a cord is perfect as a strap for a small handbag, a case for a camera or a phone. In general, the need for a good and beautiful lace has spawned many ways to knit it, today we will take a closer look at one of these methods and learn how to knit a triangular lace.

So, let's begin. All we need is yarn, a crochet hook, and also our handles 🙂

We knit 3 air loops: We now have one loop on the hook; we insert the hook into the second loop from it, and knit. We get 2 loops on the hook, and do the same with the first chain loop, so we get 3 loops on the hook: Now comes the fun part. We remove 2 loops from the hook (do not dissolve, we will need them!) And in the first loop, which remained on the hook, we knit a working thread. Now we also knit an air loop into the second loop (which we removed from the hook). In the third, we also knit VP, after which we again get 3 loops on the hook, 2 of which we remove again. And then we knit in this way to the required length of the cord.
ATTENTION! A very important point that I would like to show in more detail (it never hurts). When we remove the loops from the hook, they MUST BE PRESSED with the fingers of the left hand, otherwise, as soon as you start knitting a loop of the next row, the working thread will stretch and the removed loops will come loose. Be sure to hold the removed loops with your fingers, and very carefully monitor the thread tension (it should not be too weak, because otherwise the cord will be "thin").

So, repetition is the mother of learning!

We hold the loops removed from the hook with our left hand, and in the course of knitting we release them for knitting. These removed loops should be clamped in your fingers. We knit the second loop from the hook: And the third from the hook: And again remove the last 2 loops from the hook: See? If you do not hold the removed loops, the working thread will loosen them simply from the tension when knitting.
We continue knitting. The whole point is that having three loops on the hook, we remove the last 2, and we knit in turn the first, the second (removed) and the third (removed) ... ... again getting three loops on the hook. That's the whole cycle, the whole lace knitting algorithm! When the lace has reached the required length, we simply knit the three loops on the hook together. And we knit 1 more loop for securing. That's all! If you still have any misunderstandings, try using the video tutorial from the needlewoman Nastya, which, in my opinion, is very accessible and understandable even for beginners!

Knitted lace is an original knitted element that can be used both as an independent decorative element, as a part of a knitted product, and as an embellishing detail. You can weave a beautiful belt from the laces, you can form a beautiful figure from the cord and decorate it with clothes. The edges of the clothes, bordered with a cord (for example, the edges of the neck, pockets or the edges of the sleeves) look beautiful. Loops can be formed from the cord along the edge of parts (for example, shelves).

In this article, we'll look at several ways to how to knit a lace and options for its application for finishing knitted clothes. The lace can be separate - loose-knit or attached to the edge of the product - with a whole-knit edging. Accordingly, we will consider two main patterns for knitting laces - a knitting pattern for a loose-knit cord and a knitting pattern for an edging cord.

  • Loose knit lace

Knits on several loops. The width of the finished cord depends on how many loops you cast. The usual number is two to seven stitches.

1. Simple lace:

Pattern of knitting lace with needles on five loops

2. Twisted lace:

The knitting pattern is similar to the knitting pattern for a simple cord, the only difference is that each row is knitted alternately with either front loops or purl.

3. Multi-colored lace:

You can knit it from yarn of several colors. Such laces are good for decorating children's clothes. Such laces, fixed at the edges of the hats and used as strings, look great.

  • Edging lace

It is used when knitting parts, the edges of which must be additionally fixed. For example, when knitting the bottom edge of the product or the edges of the shelves with the front satin stitch, in order to prevent curling of the edges of these parts. If the cord is knitted from yarn of a contrasting color, then it will also serve as an additional decorative element.

2.Cord loop:

When tying the shelves with an edging cord, you can also knit button loops from it.

3.How to tie the lace along the top edge of the piece:

Thus, you can arrange the bottom edge of the product, sleeves, as well as the neck.
