How to care for lush curly hair. Curly hair: care products and stylish haircuts. What haircut is right for curly hair

Owners of straight hair often dream of tight wavy curls that add femininity to the image and successfully hide the flaws in their appearance. It's a paradox, but ladies with curly strands dream of the opposite, since curly hair care is a daily necessity, without which the hairstyle looks sloppy. Let's talk about how to tidy up naughty curls.

What is the best shampoo for curly hair?

The main feature of curly strands is a loose structure and poorly adhering cuticle scales, which determines the scarce moisture of the hair shaft and the tendency of curls to break and fluff. That is why the owner of such a hairstyle has an important task: to provide rebellious curls with nutrition and hydration.

To tame curls, choose a specialized shampoo for curly hair. It happens that a product with a similar purpose is not found in the line of a favorite brand, then you can safely buy shampoo for dry or damaged strands. So, to give the product moisturizing properties, extracts of coconut oil, licorice root, witch hazel or white lotus flowers are added to it. For fragile and split curls, choose shampoos with papain, argan oils and avocado seeds, aloe, sage or horseradish.

In some situations, women should focus not only on cosmetic, but also on medical problems of the scalp, as a result of which it is necessary to purchase specialized shampoos by skin type (oily, dry, sensitive). In such situations, you should pay attention to auxiliary care products: masks, conditioners, etc.

You can also choose a shampoo for yourself with additional properties for curly strands: to facilitate styling, to remove static electricity, to eliminate increased volume, for easy combing, etc. the components disrupt the structure of the hair trunks, artificially lifting the scales and dehydrating the already dry strands.

Balm for curly hair

By its chemical composition, the shampoo is an alkali that dries out the scalp. To neutralize the action of alkali, any girl needs a conditioner that contains acid. For ladies with wavy hair, use a nourishing conditioner with natural oils or proteins. In this case, natural components are preferable to artificial ones, since they are better absorbed into the hair shaft, without settling at the roots and without giving the impression of "dirty hair". You should also pay attention to professional keratin complexes, which necessarily include a balm, thanks to which the hairstyle becomes smooth and obedient.

To get luxurious curls, it is worth getting not only a washable, but also a leave-in conditioner. If the wash-off balm is applied to the head immediately after washing, leaving it for 2-3 minutes, the leave-in balm is used according to the instructions during the day. Any conditioner should only be applied to the ends, otherwise the strands will quickly become heavier and resemble icicles.

Curly hair care products

To give your hairstyle firmness and elasticity, it is important to use not only a shampoo with conditioner, but also seek additional care products. So, in the shops and pharmacies of the city you can find thousands of different nutritious masks, foams, emulsions, oils. When choosing funds, it is important to pay attention to the instructions for their use, for example, some masks are recommended to be applied to the entire length of the strands, while others should not touch the roots.

Despite all the usefulness of such cosmetic preparations, they should be used no more than once a week, otherwise intensive treatment will affect weakened hair in a completely opposite way. As with shampoo and balm, wearers of curly strands should choose masks and oils according to their individual needs.

Masks for curly hair at home

In addition to professional hair care products, girls can always use folk recipes to create the perfect mask for wavy strands from available homemade ingredients.

For food

To prepare this mask, you need to take cognac, olive oil and lime honey in equal proportions. All ingredients are mixed, chicken yolk is added to them and the mask is again thoroughly rubbed to a homogeneous structure. The composition is applied to the strands, distributing it evenly along the entire length. After 40 minutes, the head must be thoroughly washed with shampoo.

Against fluff

For a composition that helps to achieve a smooth and elastic hairstyle, mix in equal proportions glycerin, acetic acid and lemon juice. The mixture is distributed on the curls, avoiding contact with the skin at the roots. The mask is left for 40-60 minutes, washed off with warm water and shampoo. Thanks to glycerin, naughty curls become less electrified, they acquire softness and elasticity.

Against dryness

To prepare the composition, take natural coconut, olive or peach oil, as well as sour cream. The ingredients are mixed in equal proportions, and then the mask is applied to almost the entire length of the curls, retreating 10 cm from the roots. After that, the mixture is thoroughly washed off, rinsing the head with a decoction of chamomile.

For growth

Due to the peculiarities of the structure of the hair shaft, the owners of curls often have to go with short hair or with strands of medium length. However, there are homemade masks for the rapid growth of luxurious hair. To prepare this composition, milk is mixed with onion juice in a ratio of 2 to 1, and camphor oil is added to the resulting mixture. The mask is applied to the strands at the roots, then a hat is put on the head or a towel is tied to warm up the composition and increase blood circulation. After 15 minutes, you should wash your hair and rinse it with warm water and lemon juice.

What haircut is right for curly hair?

Experts believe that naughty curl care products provide only 30% of success. The remaining 70% of the beauty and health of curly hair depends on the correct haircut, with which only a competent stylist can help. The task of the master is to choose a hairstyle so that wavy curls look good, but at the same time they do not require daily torment with styling tools.

The regrown ends should be trimmed about once every three months. For trimming, you can use hot scissors, which seal the hair shaft, resulting in beautiful curls curling and almost no splitting.

How to dry and comb curly hair properly?

After a shower, you should not wear a towel on your head for a long time or violently wipe it dry - this will damage delicate wavy curls, entangle them and deprive the upper keratin layer. It is also not recommended to overuse a hairdryer, especially if no thermal care is used. If time permits, it is best to dry your hair naturally by lightly blotting your hair with a towel.

Special attention should be paid to combing. The hairbrush is an important accessory designed to detangle strands without tearing them apart. You can buy this tool by choosing high-quality wooden combs or smooth plastic combs. Metal or cheap plastic is not the best choice for brushing.

If the curls are long, after washing, you can gently untangle them with your hands, rising from the tips to the very roots. It is best to comb through damp hair and then add some of your favorite detangling or moisturizing product. After that, you no longer need to touch the hair with the comb until the head is completely dry.

How to straighten curly hair?

Stylers and irons are undesirable tools for the mistress of naughty dry curls, as they destroy the remaining fat on the hair shaft and break its structure, which leads to excessive fragility. They should be used extremely rarely, and only in combination with specialized styling products. It is not recommended to straighten strands in bad weather or high humidity - this is a waste of time.

Massage to strengthen and grow hair

Massage is a great way to strengthen brittle curls as stimulating the scalp improves blood circulation and nourishes the hair follicles. There are several techniques for self-massage at home, which are recommended to be applied at least once a week. Natural oils or nourishing masks should be used as an aid to stimulate the dermis.

Those who are not constrained in funds should not skimp on a professional massage in a beauty parlor - you can repeat a similar procedure every 5-6 months.

How, according to professionals, should a complete care of curly hair be carried out?

  1. use an iron, styler and other tools for thermal styling as little as possible;
  2. choose shampoo, conditioner and care products for your hair or scalp type;
  3. use the "correct" comb, less often to tighten the strands in a tight tail;
  4. before styling, apply a thermal spray or protective oil to the curls;
  5. do not expose your hair to unnecessary stress - wear a hat in winter and a panama hat in summer;
  6. do not neglect additional care products, make masks according to folk recipes and rinse your head with herbal decoctions that reduce water hardness;
  7. if necessary, contact a trichologist, take special vitamins and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Conclusion

Natural curly locks are a real gift of nature, which the ancient Greeks considered a symbol of the divinity of their owner. If you take care of the naughty strands correctly and with love, they will give the girl a unique image and make her irresistible.

Despite the spectacular appearance of curly and curly hair, they can cause a lot of difficulties for their owner. It is not easy to lay them, since, due to the porous structure, they, as a rule, stick out very chaotically in different directions.

Curly hair is dry and brittle due to a lack of nutrients that does not reach the ends of the hair due to the fact that the structure does not allow them to be evenly distributed along the entire length. Often, the length is not obtained by all owners of wavy or curly hair.

To keep your hair well-groomed and healthy, you should:

  1. Moisten them regularly.
  2. Scratch less often, as the fragile structure may suffer even more. Lightly comb with your fingers, tilting your head forward. This is often enough to keep curly hair looking good.
  3. Expose curls less to the negative effects of electrical styling appliances and aggressive staining.
  4. Correctly with a special professional shampoo.
  5. Carry out regular prophylaxis against dryness in the form of home and professional care.
  6. Trim regularly.
  7. Use care products with sun protection and thermal action.
  8. Abandon the fleece and add volume in other ways. For these purposes, you can use large curlers or drying with preliminary application of mousse to the root zone.

Compliance with the above rules will help fight dryness, brittleness, porosity, section, brittleness and improve the hair structure in general.

Home care for curly hair

Dry and curly hair requires special care and less washing than other hair types. In order for them not to puff and stick out in different directions, but, on the contrary, lie in neat, elastic, even curls, it is important to constantly moisturize and nourish them. Once you stop giving your hair the proper care, your hair will return to its original dehydrated and unstable condition.

With an excessively dried hair structure, it is advisable not to use the shampoo in a concentrated form. You can dilute it with water or herbal decoction, enrich it with extracts and esters, or of your own production with moisturizing and nourishing properties.

Very good for wavy hair with dry porous structure honey shampoo made according to the following recipe:

In tandem with natural shampoo, it is helpful to use a self-made conditioner. This combination of vitamin formulations will not only make your hair beautiful, but also help heal it.

What products can be used for self-care

The right and perfect care should always be in your arsenal. You should only use professional brands, in the assortment of which there is always a line for curly hair with a high content of oils and various moisturizers. Silicones, which contain professional products, act on the porous structure in the most favorable way, smoothing the hair scales, which makes the curls look well-groomed.

Shampoos

Ideal care for porous curly hair - shampoos with keratin in the composition, because keratin in curly hair, due to rapid washing out, must be replenished in a timely manner. These shampoos even out the structure, filling the porous core and compensating for the protein deficiency.

You should also consider professional shampoos from moisturizing or nourishing lines designed for dry hair. The perfect shampoo will help make curls firm, shiny and nourished.

Volumizing shampoos are absolutely not suitable for curly hair. The products from these lines lift the scales in an aggressive way, further exacerbating the existing problem of porosity and dryness.

Conditioners, balms

Conditioning your hair is one of the most important ingredients in wavy hair care. When washing with shampoo, the scales open and to close them, you need to apply a balm or conditioner to them. This procedure will help nourish the hair, moisturize it, protect it from external negative influences, and facilitate combing. The curls become elastic and shiny.

Moisturizing masks

To replenish the nutrients that do not linger in curly hair, it is important to apply professional masks with a moisturizing effect after each wash. It is advisable to purchase products designed specifically for curly hair from manufacturers that have proven themselves on the positive side, since it contains the largest amount of moisturizing components and nutrients. If the composition contains avocado or oils, then there is no doubt about the effectiveness of such a mask.

In addition to using professional products, home care for curly hair includes:

  • masks made from natural products at least once a week;
  • nightly massage;
  • regular intake of special vitamins and dietary supplements (2 times a year or as needed).

Professional care for curly and frizzy hair

Wavy and curly hair has a structure broken by kinks, which is why it does not receive enough nutrition, so it is necessary to take care of them not only at home. In tandem with home care, quality salon treatments uniquely improve the condition of your hair and help it grow back.

Laser combing

If you want to grow the length by increasing blood circulation and stimulating the bulbs and roots, you can undergo a course of laser treatment. The procedure is not cheap, therefore, in order to save money, a comb can be purchased for home use.

Mesotherapy

The cocktail composition and concentration for each client is selected individually based on the needs of the hair and is invasively injected under the skin. Ten sessions are enough for the treatment course. The bulbs receive the necessary nutrition, which is why they stop falling out, grow vigorously and acquire a healthy look. The procedure can be quite painful, but the result will not be long in coming.

Ampoule treatment

The advantage of ampoule treatment is that there are many formulations for each hair problem and you can choose the right one for you. It is easy and pleasant to use them, there are no painful sensations, and the result appears already at the end of the course.

The active substances in each of these solutions help to saturate the hair with all the necessary nutrients, enhance growth, prevent or. It is advisable to select ampoules for yourself after consulting a trichologist.

Nitrogen treatment

The procedure consists of narrowing and widening the hair follicles. In action, it resembles a contrast shower. Such manipulations increase blood circulation, which, in turn, enhances growth and strengthens the bulbs.

Ozone treatment

Oxygen saturation enhances all metabolic processes, thereby enriching the roots and hair.

Darsonval

The Darsonval machine with comb attachments helps to stimulate hair growth and strengthen hair thanks to micro-currents. In addition, it successfully fights against increased sebum secretion at the roots.

Keeping wavy and curly hair in good condition requires pampering it with salon treatments once or twice a year and grooming it daily with professional products.

How to choose the right curly hair care product for yourself

To get the right curly hair care products that are one hundred percent suitable for you, you should familiarize yourself with the main selection criteria:

1. Shampoo should not contain sulfates, which are absolutely unsuitable for dry curly hair. Among other things, it must contain oils, keratin, extracts and extracts.

2. When choosing a conditioner, you should pay attention to the same line from which the shampoo was selected. The main function of such products is to smooth the scales, soften, and facilitate combing.

3. Hair masks should be rich and highly nutritious. They contain nutritious oils, strong moisturizing ingredients,

Many people like curls but few people know how much work it takes to keep them under control. Wonderzine understood the peculiarities of curly hair and selected five products, without which basic hair care is unthinkable.

About the structure
curly hair

Due to its structure (loose and uneven cuticle scales), curly hair is drier than straight, less moisture absorbing, prone to breakage and frizz. Therefore, caring for them is, first of all, thorough and sufficient hydration.

Before proceeding with the choice of funds, you need to understand the terminology. American and European brands use the curl classification system proposed by stylist André Walker. According to it, curly hair is usually divided into several types: wavy, curly and spiral. They differ in curl pattern (wave, S-shaped curl or "small devil"), porosity, density, thickness and therefore may respond differently to the same product. Each type is divided into subtypes (A, B, C) depending on the intensity of the spiral. You need to know your curl, because on the jars themselves and in reviews of them, it is customary to indicate who the product is suitable for ("the ideal leave-in conditioner for owners of 3A").

Vladislav Tkachev, leading trichologist of the DSD de Luxe brand

Curly hair usually has an oval cross-section. They are strong, but porous and prone to trauma, including for anatomical reasons: in the places of bends, curly hair has areas of narrowed diameter, which, even after straightening, retain a weakened structure.

For hair with severe damage, conditioners, balms and masks, used in moderation, are much more useful than shampoos. There is a large group of people for whom “washing” without agents with surfactants (shampoos) may be sufficient, but this method is not suitable for everyone. Insufficient quality washing of the scalp leads to the accumulation of sebum, and this is a favorite breeding ground for fungi of the Malassezia genus, so itching, dandruff may worsen, dermatitis and bacterial infections, especially staphylococcal infections, may worsen. If you still really want to try covashing, you need to use lotions and tonics containing cleansing and anti-seborrheic components (preferably with a small amount of alcohol or completely alcohol-free) - rubbing the scalp with them may well replace washing with shampoo.

Modern shampoos, even sulfate ones, contain, along with surfactants, a large amount of emollient and moisturizing components, co-surfactants. It is better to choose those that contain keratin, collagen, ceramides, phospholipids - high-quality sulfate shampoos do not pose any threat to damaged hair and can even strengthen them. Curly hair, like any hair, should be washed as it gets dirty, and combed after the conditioner to reduce the risk of injury (it would be good to apply a moisturizing keratin-based spray before that).

5 irreplaceable tools
for curly hair

Sulfate free shampoo

Kinky-Curly Come Clean Moisturizing Shampoo

Regular mass-market shampoo contains heavy chemical compounds (sulfates) that flush out natural oils and moisture from the cuticle. If straight, especially oily hair can still withstand such treatment, then it is contraindicated for curls: they are fat-free, they bristle, ruffle, stand on end, like a lion's.

Conditioner for washing

Lorraine Massey, author of Curly Girl: The Handbook, has come up with gentle ways to wash curly hair, one of which is called “co-washing” or “no-poo”. This shampooing is not a shampoo, but a conditioner that does not contain silicones and alcohols. The conditioner is applied to damp hair and thoroughly rubbed into the scalp and the entire length of the hair for five to seven minutes, and then rinsed off. Then the conditioner is applied and rinsed off again as after a normal shampooing. Hair can take several weeks to get used to this method of cleansing, and not everyone is suitable for covashing, but it can help bring back dead hair, tortured by chemistry or dyeing, to life.

Conditioner after wash

Body Shop Rainforest Shine Conditioner

Most conditioners contain silicones that add shine to the hair. The problem is that the only way to wash them off is with sulfate shampoos. Therefore, it is better for curly girls who use only sulfate-free shampoos to use conditioners without silicones.

A haircut

On curly hair, split ends look more noticeable, because the hair immediately begins to bristle in different directions. Therefore, the ends must be trimmed every four to five months. Unfortunately, most Russian hairdressers do not understand at all how to work with curls: in no case should they be cut with a razor and thinned (thinning) should be done on them. The ideal haircut for curly hair is done on a dry head: this is the only way a hairdresser can understand how the shape will look after the hair is dry and lifted.

Leave-in conditioner

Oyin Handmade Hair Dew

Leave-in conditioners are used in between shampoos to moisturize, smooth and shape curls. Leave-in conditioners, unlike creams, oils and gels, do not weigh hair down and can be an alternative to styling products: they can be applied to both dry and damp hair.

Deep conditioner

Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment

In addition to moisturizing your curls daily, you need an additional weekly replenishment. For this, so-called deep conditioning (deep conditioning) have been developed, which are able to penetrate into the very base of the hair shaft. After using them, the hair becomes unusually soft (like in childhood) and shaped into clear curls.

For curly hair, the really most important point is proper hydration and, perhaps, a good hairdresser who knows how to work with curly hair and does not suggest pulling it out all the time. And if the search for a suitable hairdresser can take too long, then moisturizing is easier to cope with.

The easiest way to deal with frizzy hair is to use products specifically for curly hair. Shampoo, conditioner and mask, if necessary, will most likely remove the most active frizz, moisturize hair and facilitate further styling. My favorites are Ouidad, Deva Curl (founder Lorraine Massey has a whole curly hair care concept and amazing salons where the masters know literally everything about curly hair), Ojon (moisturizing series), Rene Furterer and one of the recent discoveries - Oribe. It is important to understand what type of curly hair you have (density, stiffness, type of curl - there are nuances). Wen and Deva Curl have some pretty good tools for coowing and variations on the theme. It is important to remember that the conditioner is free of silicones, otherwise the hair will turn into nasty icicles.

Next is the styling. A common mistake is to take too much styling product, then the hair becomes heavy and the desired effect cannot be achieved. Be patient and experiment, as there are many styling products for curls: foams, gels, creams. As for a hairdresser, perhaps the easiest way to find one is to look closely at girls with curly hair, whose styling and haircut you like, and feel free to ask for contacts.

The curls are beautiful! So everyone thinks, perhaps, except for those who have these same curls. “I just don't know what to do with them,” they sigh.

But it turns out that it is enough to competently care for curly hair so that it lies with shiny, elastic curls, and does not stick out like a fluffy dandelion.

Why do they curl?

Before deciding how to properly care for curls, you need to understand what exactly they are.
There are two elements that form the hair structure: the follicle and the trunk.

An invisible but living hair follicle in the scalp acts as an anchor to hold the "dead" hair in place, and it is its shape that determines whether your hair is straight or curly.

If the shape of the follicle is a shaft (circle) - the hair will be straight and smooth, if its diameter is wide, then the hair will be dense (a good example is Asian hair), if the follicle is oval - the hair will have a light wave, like most Slavic women, and the follicle in the form of an ellipse will give curls.

The angle at which the hair comes out of the scalp also affects the curl: the smaller the angle, the tighter your curls. Keratin proteins are also unevenly distributed in curly hair, especially in the bends, this affects the creation of curl, and at the same time makes the hair thinner.

Main problems

Curly hair suffers from dryness simply because it is almost impossible for sebum (sebum) to lubricate an entire hair with many curves. This is why straight hair products and regular grooming systems are not always suitable for people with curls. Although there are also advantages - you don't need to wash your hair as often as owners of straight hair.

The right care for shiny curls

Preparing to wash your hair. For this, conditioners or vegetable oils are used. Coconut oil is especially popular, because science has already proven its magical properties. The 2001 test was very revealing, when women applied coconut oil and left it overnight, and in the morning they washed their hair with SLS shampoo (a strong detergent).

The test showed that the oil penetrates deeply into the hair shaft, thus helping to moisturize and restore.

The second observation is that when the hair is wetted, the oil prevents water from penetrating inside, thereby stopping the swelling, which is harmful to the health of the hair, because hair that first absorbs a lot of moisture and then loses it very quickly becomes brittle.

Read also:

You can leave the oil overnight if your hair is severely damaged. For normal care, apply the oil 20-30 minutes before washing (you can wrap your hair with a cap and towel).

Frequency of hair washing. Curly hair does not need to be cleaned as often as straight hair. For those with curls, shampooing once a week is sufficient.

If you just want to freshen up your head, use a light conditioner or special conditioner for co-waxing. Or a simpler option - you can dilute your regular conditioner with water in a one-to-one ratio.

Conditioners contain emulsifiers, which also have cleansing properties - much weaker than the usual surfactants, but sufficient for curly hair. If you are using this method, then the first step (preparation) can be skipped.

Shampooing your hair. Imagine your hair is expensive cashmere. You will not wash such a thing with powder or aggressive shampoo.

Therefore, use mild surfactants that do not penetrate deep into the hair and scalp and do not deprive them of valuable lipids and ceramides.

Look in the composition for the indication: PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, pavas with the ending "Carboxylate" or "Lauroamphoacetate". Look for baby formulas and low foaming.

The washing technique for curly hair is also different from the usual one. Friction when foaming shampoo tangles even straight hair, let alone curls.

Try to divide your hair into 4 sections (or even more if it is very thick) and secure all but one section with bobby pins. Apply shampoo or a cleansing conditioner to each section of hair, then rinse in the same sequence. Refuse hot water, it opens hair scales, which is highly undesirable, use warm water, no higher than 38 ° C.

Conditioning. Here it is worth paying attention to the condition of your hair. If they are dry, look for moisturizing ingredients in the composition: glycols, aloe vera, glycerin. If your hair is weak, you will need a protein shake made from proteins (keratin, hydrolysates), ceramides and oils.

There is a delicate balance between these ingredients, a bias towards hydration and your hair will be sticky or sticky, a preponderance towards protein and it will become tough and brittle.

Therefore, it is important to keep track of the needs of the hair and, possibly, change products from season to season.

After washing. Avoid the usual hard towels, as they open up the cuticles, which leads to tangling. Use microfiber towels or even cotton T-shirts.

Don't rub your hair, just wrap your hair in a towel or a T-shirt and curl it like wringing out an expensive cashmere sweater.

Wait 30 minutes before removing the T-shirt or towel to absorb excess moisture. Your curls will become more defined.

Comb your hair gently with a coarse-toothed comb and do not use a regular hair dryer to heat your hair. Better to use a diffuser and be sure to use a thermal spray.
As you can see, the rules for caring for curly hair are not at all complicated. And if you follow them, you won't even need expensive special products.

About my hair: dry, porous, thin, naughty, curly, never dyed, cut 2 times under a square.
Colour: Blond
How many years have I been growing: almost 4 years
How long do I want: currently 80 cm.
Length now: 64 cm.

I'll start with the background
As a child, I was very curly and my mother could not comb my hair, because I did not let her do it (it hurt me, since it was always tangled).

Until the age of 11, I constantly went to school with braids, since this was the easiest way to pacify my mane (and the hair from the braids was straighter). I washed my head with ordinary shampoo, I didn't have any masks, balms, I combed my hair very hard, constantly tore it up.

And then one day, during a summer vacation in Tiraspol (since there is an awful heat), I asked my mother to cut my hair under a bob (I was about 11 years old then). This was a terrible mistake! I still regret it. It is a pity that there is no photo. Then I still did not understand how beautiful my hair was. But then I really liked this square, but I liked it so much that after a couple of years I repeated it in my city, but unsuccessfully. Until now, with a shudder I remember my "stubs" of hair, my tears after this "haircut". In the photo below, they are already 4-5 centimeters in the industry. So imagine what happened before. Nightmare!

I started hair care only in 2012 at the end of the 2nd year of the university. After my tips were trimmed, I went to the pharmacy and bought my first oil, jojoba oil. Then I found out that the pharmacy oils are not of the best quality, and I began to order them on the Internet.
My favorite firms: Workshop of Olesya Mustaeva and Spivak (but they are not mega-natural either).
I started to restore hair with using oils... I tried a ton of oils, it makes no sense to paint everything.
At the moment my favorites from base oils are:
-coconut oil
-argan oil
-linseed oil
- monoi de tahiti oil
-broccoli oil
-Shea Butter
-cacao butter
-almond oil
- hemp oil
-jojoba oil
Favorite essential oils:
-lavender
-lang-ylang
-bei (for growth)
-sage
-rosemary (for growth)
-cinnamon (for growth)

Homemade masks
When I started to restore my hair, I did oil masks 3-4 times a week, once a week I made sure to leave the mask overnight. Now I do oil masks 2 times a week (and sometimes 1) before washing my hair and that's enough for me.
It is advisable to leave the oil masks overnight, but should only be applied to the length.
It is better not to keep such masks on the hair roots for more than 2 hours, since they can clog the pores, and as a result, hair loss will increase, they will become greasy faster.
IMPORTANT: Essential oils should never be stirred with a metal spoon! Only wooden or, in extreme cases, plastic.
The main thing is to make masks regularly and not to be lazy!

1. Mask with coconut oil
We need: coconut oil

I comb my hair, take a little oil (the melting temperature of the oil is 25˚), rub it in my palms and apply it to the hair with “squeezing” movements, as if pressing the oil into the hair (I apply only to the length). I comb my hair with a comb so that the oil is better distributed through the hair (I do this for all oil masks). Then I twist my hair into a bun,
I put on a bag, a hat and go to bed (but more often I just braid my hair or make a bun, put a towel on the pillow and sleep like that). I wash it off in the morning.
Lately, that's the only thing I've been doing.

2. Kefir mask
We need:
- 1 glass of kefir (fatter is better)
- 7 drops of lavender essential oil
- 7 drops of sage essential oil
- sometimes I add cocoa
I heat the kefir in a water bath (you can heat it in the microwave), add essential oils to it and stir it. I apply this mixture to the roots and the entire length of the hair, twist the bun, put on a bag, a hat and walk like that until I get bored (at least an hour, usually about 3 hours). Then I wash off everything with warm water and my head as usual.
P.S. The mask is flowing.

3. Sour cream mask with cocoa
We need:
- 1 glass of sour cream
- 7 drops of lavender essential oil (or any other essential oil)
- cocoa powder
The principle is the same as with the kefir mask.
I heat sour cream + cocoa in a water bath (you can heat it in the microwave), add essential oils to the mixture and stir. I apply the mask to the roots and length of the hair, twist the bun, put on a bag, a hat (I walk for about 3 hours). Then I wash off everything with warm water and my head as usual.
P.S. The mask is flowing.

4. Egg mask with honey and aloe
As you know, how well the hair is formed in the bulb, how good the hair will be in the future. That is, you need to take good care of the scalp, drink vitamins so that the hair is initially formed strong and healthy.
We need:
- aloe pulp (or aloe gel)

- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 yolks
- burdock oil (or any base oil)
- 7 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil
- 6 drops of rosemary essential oil

Mix the pulp or aloe gel with honey, yolk, burdock oil, essential oils of ylang-ylang and rosemary + vitamins A and E. Apply the mixture to the hair roots, twist the bun, put on a bag and a hat.
I walk with her for an hour, then I wash off with warm water and wash my head as usual.

5. Supermix of oils
We need:
- 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil
- cacao butter
- Shea Butter
- almond oil
- hemp oil
- jojoba oil
- walnut oil
-olive oil
- pumpkin seed oil
- essential oil of lavender, sage, rosemary (sometimes I also add patchouli and ylang-ylang)
In a water bath, melt the cocoa and shea butter, when the mixture cools down (barely warm), add there oils: almond, hemp, jojoba, walnut, olive, pumpkin. We mix everything. Then add lavender, sage, patchouli and ylang-ylang oils (about 5 drops each). Mix again.
Apply to the length of the hair for 2 hours (or better for 3 hours, you can also overnight). The mask turns out to be very oily, but the effect is amazing.

6. Sea buckthorn oil
For nourishing hair roots I like to do this mask:
- sea buckthorn oil
- rosemary essential oil
- 1 teaspoon each vitamin A and E
I mix everything, put the mask on the roots (it is possible for the length), put on a bag, a hat and walk for an hour. Then I wash off with warm water and wash my head as usual.
Caution, sea buckthorn oil dyes very well!

Girls, do not expect miracles from oils after the first application! To have a result, you need to use oils regularly (at least for two to three months). I used oils to restore my hair, which had been killed by poor treatment, for a very long time ( more than a year for sure). And a small result appeared, for me personally, only six months later! But when I saw him, I was incredibly happy. The result was worth all my efforts.
The oils provide protection against splitting and brittleness. They provide, rather than treat, already damaged and split ends. Severed hair only needs to be cut off and nothing else! And only then to treat with oils and other means (more on that below)
IMPORTANT! If you have completely dead hair on your head (improper lightening, dyeing, chemical perm, hair burned with an iron, etc.), then NOTHING already won't save your hair! There is only one way out - to cut everything off and start growing.

7 steps to beauty your hair.
Now let's take a look at what the RIGHT care for our hair should be.
I think many people know, but I still repeat that in caring for any type of hair, it is best to apply multi-layer care, in which there should be an emphasis on nutrition(e.g. oils), humidification(products containing: hyaluronic acid, d-panthenol, glycerin, aloe extract, betaine, marine collagen, etc., for example, a spray from Librederm), restoration (products containing: proteins, keratin, collagen, elastin, etc., for example, lundenilona 3 in 1 night mask) and hair protection (products that include: aminopropyl phenyl trimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, etc.) I will soon make a separate review about this.
So, first stage- hair cleansing. This includes shampoos.
Second stage- mask (balm, conditioner).
Third step- ampoule care.
Fourth step- sprays. They are needed for moisturizing, protecting hair from the sun, easy combing ...
Fifth step- milk (cream) for hair.
Sixth step- oil (any non-washing agent), heat protection for hair ends.
Seventh step- the right comb.
Below I will describe each step in more detail.

My secrets for curly hair care:

1. Combing (7th step).
I wrote about how to comb properly in the article. I think I will not repeat myself here.

2. Proper shampooing.
I wash my hair upside down.
I believe that it is right to wash my hair like this: first, I thoroughly wet my head warm! water, then pour shampoo into the palm of my hand, lather it and only then apply it to the roots! hair, gently massage the scalp (foam flows down the hair, do not rub the hair!). Then again I pour the shampoo into the palm of my hand and repeat the procedure, that is I wash my head 2 times(for the first time, dirt, styling products are washed off the hair ...). After that, I thoroughly rinse the hair from the shampoo with warm water, then gently squeeze the water out of the hair to apply a mask (balm, conditioner), withstand the allotted time for the mask (balm, conditioner) to work and rinse the hair with cool water (with this action we close the hair scales making our hair smooth and shiny).
But if I did oily oil masks, or styled my hair with a lot of styling products, or if I wash my head with deep cleansing shampoo (SHGO), then gently distribute the foam along the length of the hair.
IMPORTANT! You cannot wash your hair with hot water, as the sebaceous glands on our head begin to work actively, and the hair will very quickly become oily, and may still lose its shine.
Wash your hair only when it gets dirty!

2.1. Shampoos. (1st stage)
My requirements for shampoos:
First, and most importantly, they must cleanse the hair well.
Second, should not exacerbate existing problems.
Third, suitable for my scalp type.
Fourth, there should be a different shampoo for each season.
I try to use organic shampoos and alternate them before every shampoo (my favorites: solid shampoo "Amla" and "Chamomile" from the Workshop of Olesya Mustaeva; shampoo Organic Tai "Frangipani";
gel-cream for shampooing from ChocoLatte "White Grapes", "Strawberry", "Citrus").

But, in some masks I have Amodimethicone. After using these masks (for example, an orange mask from Angel), I wash my head with a professional shampoo.

Amodimethicone does not tend to build up strong and does not dissolve in water, however, it is completely washed out with shampoos with Lauryl Sulfate (lauryl sulfate), Laureth Sulfate (laureth sulfate) or Cocamidopropil Betaine (cocamidopropyl betaine).

For the summer I bought myself a pair of professional shampoos: shampoo from Angel Professional Solar Series and deep cleansing shampoo (GOSH) also from Angel Professional, which I will use once a month, since I use masks with silicones.
GOSH (or SHGO) - is intended for deep cleansing of hair from various impurities accumulated in them. If your hair is soaked from masks and other care products (varnishes, foams ...), hangs like icicles, has become dull, then you just need a deep cleaning shampoo. Regular shampoos wash away only surface impurities, and dirt continues to accumulate inside the hair.

2.2. Masks, balms, conditioners. (2nd stage)
Now I use professional length masks, and organic masks for the roots (I used to love exclusively organic care, it restored my hair very well, but now it has become too long (64 cm), from organic matter they have little moisture, protection. Therefore, about 1 , 5 years ago I switched to prof).
IMPORTANT! You do not need to climb into the mask with wet hands (since when taking a bath or shower, water gets into the mask), it is better to use wooden spoon or spatula, or try to dry your hands.
My favorite professional masks:
a) Hair Mask Angel Professional Instant recovery with Argan oil;

b) Hair mask ANGEL Professional Nourishing hair cream;

v) Brelil NUMERO hair cream mask with oats

G) Masks from Kaaral (Hydra and with royal jelly - took for bottling)

My Favorite Organic Masks
a) Sunlight mask cream Minoxidil 1% burdock oil + tea tree with sea buckthorn (and other cream masks of this series) - stimulates hair growth due to the content of minoxidil in it - I apply it to the roots;

b) Balm-conditioner for hair Olesya Mustaeva's workshop with broccoli oil - I apply to the length.

I also really like the Angel Professional MARINE DEPTH SPA CONDITIONER hair conditioner.
I apply masks (balms, conditioners) like this: after washing my hair 2 times, I gently squeeze (do not twist) the hair to remove excess moisture, which will prevent the mask (or conditioner) from being absorbed well (you can wrap them in a towel that will absorb this excess moisture), and then apply organic the mask for the roots, and the professional mask for the length. Withstand the necessary time, wash off with cool water (again, cool in order to close the hair scales).
I wash my head 2 times a week at night (but sometimes for important events, so that the curls lie better in the morning). For the first time (Wednesday) I apply a mask on the length, and the second time (Sunday) conditioner. I apply an organic mask to the roots every time.
After every shampoo, I try to rinse my hair with herbs.
My favorite: sage, chamomile, nettle, linden, mint.

3. Ampoule care. (3rd step)

Even if the hair is in excellent condition, it needs special care. Modern cosmetology offers ampoules for hair restoration. As a rule, multicomponent care products contain a whole range of useful amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Such a "cocktail" of nutrients not only strengthens, but also penetrates deep into the hair structure.
Ampoule care is a rare but irreplaceable care for my hair. With him, the hairs just come to life! I use ampoules every two weeks.
Tried only 3 ampoules (from Selective, Dikson and Lakme). I loved the latter the most.

How to use the ampoule from Lakme
I use the ampoule after the shampoo, apply the product for about 15 minutes on damp hair wrung out with a towel. When you pour the product into the palm of your hand, you immediately feel the warming effect. You need to pour it very carefully so as not to spill. The oil must be carefully distributed over the entire length of the hair (retreat about 15 centimeters from the roots), whip the foam with “cuddling” movements (be sure to beat until foam, otherwise there will be no result! Checked!) The oil foams very well.
Then I apply conditioner (or balm). I keep it for 5-10 minutes and wash it off cool! water. The procedure is carried out once every two weeks and I consider it sufficient for my hair.
As a result, my hair becomes soft, silky, supple and very well hydrated.
Result from ampoules + comprehensive care

4. Drying your hair
After I washed my hair (paragraph 2 ), I wrap my hair with a towel (like a turban) and walk like this for a minute or two (no more 5 ) to absorb excess moisture.
Then I gently unwrap the turban and gently blot my hair, do not rub them.
Advice: If you dry your hair with a hairdryer, then dry it better cold air using a diffuser nozzle and be sure to apply thermal protection (and if you straighten your hair, thermal protection will help you, without it there is a risk of severely damaging your hair)! This is my personal opinion.

5. Indelible products (4th, 5th and 6th steps) and hair styling
When the hair dries out a little (it is not wet, but damp!), I either comb it with a Tangle Angel comb (if I wash my head in the morning),

or I divide my hair into two tails (I do this at night), as if I'm going to weave two braids, spray the ends and length of the hair with a spray (for example, Librederm - 4th stage) and apply indelible agents on them first to the length (for example, cream - 5th stage), then onto the tips (for example, a non-wash from CHI - 6th stage). Then I tilt my head down and begin to "crumple" the hair so that the curls are better formed. I sleep with this "hairdo" on my head.
Since it can be seen badly, I explain: I tilt my head down, I stick my hair in an elastic band, as if I’m going to tie a tail, I make one turn, and I don’t push my hair through the second turn of the elastic band. According to this principle, the hair bow is woven from hair.
In the morning I just gently untie it, slightly moisten my hair with water, “crumple” my hair and get fresh and beautiful curls. This is the only way I style my hair.
If during the day the hairs begin to fluff, then I simply smooth them with water, or I spray them on them.
I don’t style my hair except a cream and an indelible solution (with these two products, my hair already looks good), because I’m afraid that products such as mousse, gel, will dry my hair or stick it together, but I still want to try Angel's foam. ).
I will give below an example of my favorite leave-in products.

Indelible products for length
a) Angel Professional Paris Algae Nourishing Hair Cream (leave-in) is my favorite;

b) MoltoBene hair milk is also a wonderful remedy.
v) Cream from Londa - for the summer to protect hair from the sun
Leave-in products for hair ends
a) Repairing hair product CHI Silk Infusion;

b) Argan oil for hair with particles of gold Tahe Keratin gold. I have it recently, but I have already managed to love it;
v) Restorative hair oil Dancoly Angel Professional;
None of these products dry out my hair.

Hair sprays
a) Librederm Hyaluronic Fluid Hair Conditioner;
b) Moisturizing serum KAPOUS DUAL RENASCENCE 2 phase;
v) Spray Angel from the Sun Protection Series
They moisturize the hair perfectly.

Hair after complex care:

6. Hairpins.
I use rubber bands-wires, they are very comfortable and do not tear my hair.

7. Means for hair growth
Since my hair grows very slowly, I stimulate hair growth with masks.

Homemade remedies

1. Homemade burdock oil
I never liked the burdock oil in the pharmacy, so I decided to prepare it myself, because it's so easy!
To prepare it we need:
- burdock roots
-mustard oil
- calamus roots
Pour the mustard oil into a jar in which you will infuse your oil. Then we pour burdock roots and calamus roots into it (how much to pour depends on your jar, I sprinkled about 2 tablespoons on the eye), shake the jar so that the roots are completely in oil and put it all in a warm place for 10 days. After 10 days, filter the oil and you can smear the hair roots.

2. Nettle oil
To prepare it we need:
- nettle leaves
-mustard oil (or olive)
It is done in the same way as burdock oil:
Pour the mustard oil into a jar in which you will infuse your oil. Then pour nettle leaves into it, shake the jar so that the leaves are completely in the oil and put it all in a warm place for 10 days. After 10 days, filter the oil and you can smear the hair roots.

3. Mustard mask
This well-known mask helps very well in hair growth, as it bakes the scalp very well. But you need to use it carefully, it can burn the skin, as well as dry your hair.
To prepare this mask we need:
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (if the mustard does not bake, you can add 2 tablespoons)
- a decoction of nettle (by eye)
- 1 yolk
- 1-2 tablespoons of burdock (mustard) oil

We mix the nettle broth, mustard powder and sugar until a homogeneous, not too liquid consistency, then add oils and yolk and apply strictly to the roots. Be sure to grease the length of your hair with plenty of oils, otherwise the mustard will dry out all your hair! Then we put on a bag, a hat and walk like this for 15-30 minutes (depending on how it bakes) or even less, look at your feelings (if it bakes strongly, do not tolerate it, otherwise you will burn your scalp, dandruff may appear!). Rinse off not with hot water, but with lukewarm water, otherwise there will be a fire on the head.
Carefully, try to avoid getting on your face, nose, or eyes while you wash off this mixture! It is better to make a mask in courses (for example, 1 month, once a week).

4. Scrub for scalp with essential oils
We need:
- finely ground sea salt
-6 drops of bay essential oil
-5 drops of rosemary essential oil
-clay
I mix all the ingredients and gently scrub the scalp before washing the hair (I must apply oil to the length and ends so that the salt does not dry out).
Why am I adding clay?
If you scrub the scalp with just salt with the addition of essential oils, the salt crumbles a lot (maybe someone is lucky and everything is in order), and when I add clay, everything is perfectly applied. Also, clay is very useful for hair.
Salt scalp scrub:
- accelerates hair growth (as the blood circulation of the scalp improves);
- prevents hair loss;
- hair after it is less greasy;
- removes dead cells;
- cleanses the scalp.

5. Pepper mask
We need:
- tincture of paprika
-hair balm (natural, no sls)
Such a mask is applied only to the roots, it is imperative to apply an oil mask to the length, since pepper can dry the hair, I put on a bag and a hat on top. The scalp should be hot. I usually go with her for about an hour, then gently wash off with warm water, then wash my head as usual. It, like the mustard mask, is best done in courses.

6. Mask with essential oil of cinnamon (or bay)
We need:
- essential oil of cinnamon (or bey)
-base oil (burdock, mustard, sea buckthorn)
Add about 5-6 drops of cinnamon essential oil (or about 10 drops of bey ether) to the base oil, stir and apply to the scalp. Carefully! Cinnamon bakes really hard! Better to start adding, for example, 3 drops of cinnamon ether, and then, if the baking is bad, increase the number of drops. I keep it for about half an hour (sometimes an hour), wash it off.

Purchased funds

1. Minoxidil

I have been using Minoxidil recently (since April 2016). I apply it on clean scalp (no more than 18-22 presses) once a day and do not wash it off.
Outcome: a lot of little hairs appeared.
But recently I abandoned it, as the roots with this remedy are more greasy.

2. Mask Russian field with pepper
Everyone knows the mask.

I put it on the roots, and on the length of the oil mask, for insulation I put on a bag, then a hat. The mask can be warmed up with a hairdryer. I walk with her for an hour, then I wash it off with water and my head as usual.

8. Hair cutting, hot scissors
I go to the hairdresser's once six months (I advise you to have a haircut as needed), but at home I regularly do a haircut with flagella once a month to remove the entire cut. I think there is no need to explain that cut hair cannot be glued together, you just need to cut it off. If you do not cut, then the cut hair will only become larger, the hair will break off, the length will stand still.
Therefore, the most successful option is a haircut with flagella, because the cut hairs are removed both at the length and at the ends, and the hairs grow further, the length is added.
Recently I went for a procedure: hair cutting with hot scissors. I really liked it. First, they straightened my hair, then cut the length and ends of my hair with flagella. This is much better than I cut myself at home, because on straight hair the section is clearly visible, but on curly hair it is almost invisible. The hair was insanely soft and smooth. Now I will always go to it.
But there is a couple but:
1) they did not wash my hair and did not apply any masks before the procedure, but this should be done (but I knew about this, I just warn you in advance);
2) before straightening, they did not put any thermal protection on my hair and steam came from them. But this is a serious omission!

I think I'll look for another master and before signing up, I'll ask him what and how he will do.

9. Vitamins for hair
Every day (morning and evening) I take linseed oil... I also plan to buy other oils (cedar, pumpkin) and drink them every day.
I also took vitamins Perfectil, I liked them, but my aunt scared me that her friend (also a hair-man) put them in my stomach, and I decided to stop drinking them.
Since June I have been drinking vitamins from Amway - NUTRILITE Double X with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.

Sometimes I drink a course of vitamin pentovit. By autumn I plan to buy 21st Century Health Care Biotin vitamins for hair, skin and nails at Ayherb or Silettum vitamins for hair, skin and nails.

10. Aroma combing.
I rarely do aroma combing, but I really like doing it with lavender essential oil.
I do it like this: on a wooden comb (or bone), I drip a few drops of essential oil and thoroughly, and most importantly, gently comb the hair for at least 5 minutes (it is advisable not to touch the roots). Aroma combing is done only on clean hair (not smeared with anything!). It is advisable to ventilate the room before and after the procedure.
IMPORTANT! Before using the oil, make sure you are not allergic to it and that you enjoy the smell.
Aroma combing should be done with natural essential oils (I like the ethers from Olesya Mustaeva's Workshop, sometimes I take it from Spivak, although even they are not very natural). But the essential oils from the pharmacy are definitely not natural.
I plan to buy myself a lot of delicious oils and take on this business thoroughly.
I try to do the same head massage everyday.

Some more nuances
- Proper nutrition- the key to healthy hair! And their nutrition begins from the inside. Try to eat more healthy foods.
- Alcohol (smoking) - enemy of your hair... It deprives your hair (of course, and not only them) of nutrition, shine.
- Necessary get enough sleep.
- Drink 1.5-2 liters of water per day.

The difference in length between curly and straight hair for me is 11 centimeters (plus or minus a couple of centimeters. It all depends on the styling). Now, the length of my hair is 64 centimeters(straight), and in curly - about 53 centimeters.
This is how our curls "steal" the length

My mistakes in curly hair care:
1. Combing.
-Everyone knows that you cannot comb your curls, as there will be fluff. But I combed and collected them in the tail up to the 2nd year of the university. Horror.
- I used a bad comb, which simply tore my hair.
2. Improper washing.
-I washed the entire length of my hair, and rubbed the shampoo not in the palms of my hands, but poured it immediately on my head.
- I rubbed my hair along the entire length, roughly massaged the scalp with my nails.
Outcome: hair dried up, began to be severely cut.
3. Drying your hair with a towel.
Never rub your hair with a towel! From this they become very confused, damaged and begin to split.
4. Do not let your hair dry out.
Before my hair care, I hadn't thought of any sprays, masks or other moisturizing things. Curly hair is dry hair.
5. Combing wet hair.
I used to comb my wet hair and comb it with a comb that would rip out tufts of hair. Remember, you cannot comb wet hair! But wet hair, with moisturizers applied to it, is possible, which I sometimes do.
6. Hair dryer, iron, curling iron.
I always dry my hair naturally, I use a hairdryer very rarely (when I am in a hurry somewhere and only cold air), they straightened my hair with an iron in the salon once in my life, when I cut it with flagella. I never used a curling iron.
7. Elastic bands, hairpins.
- You can't use elastic bands with iron inserts, they tear your hair! And also you can not use tight rubber bands.
8. Paint
I have never dyed, because I consider it harmful for curls (until I have gray hair, I will definitely not dye it). But when I have to do it, and then I will only use good professional paints.

Well, a couple more tips:
1. Never do keratin straightening. It is very harmful to the hair! (Personally my opinion)
2. Choose a hairdresser very carefully (preferably one who knows how to work with your hair type). I think many have read about cases that the hairdresser, instead of a centimeter of hair, cut off 5 centimeters (this is still as lucky as anyone). So that this does not happen to you, you need a proven master with a light hand. Either cut your hair yourself (I often use flagella) or ask your relatives.
3. Do not sleep with your hair loose, as it is very tangled (it is better to collect them in a "pineapple" or in a braid).
My advice is my personal experience and I just share it with you.
I have been writing this review for a very long time and thoroughly, and I hope that it is useful to you!
