Video: how is high-quality shampoo made?

Shampoo is a universal detergent that also produces a caring effect. This type of product can be divided into 5 types according to its state of aggregation: powder, aerosol, creamy and, the most popular types, liquid and gel. Such shampoos are the most convenient to use, moreover, they are of average cost and are suitable for all types of hair.

Shampoos on the destination side are divided into 4 types:

  • Hygienic shampoos;

  • Shampoos with tint effect;

  • Treatment and prophylaxis;

  • And deep cleaning shampoos.

A business activity based on the production of shampoo will be a good start. This business does not require a lot of expenses, and the production process is not labor-intensive. Most often, shampoo manufacturers do not limit themselves to just one type of product. They are also starting to produce products that have a similar manufacturing process to shampoo.

The composition of shampoo and its production process.

The most crucial moment in the production of shampoo is the formulation of the product. Each component has a specific function and property.

  1. Water, which serves as the base. In such an environment, the components that make up the shampoo are mixed.

  2. Surfactants, that is, surfactants. They cleanse hair of impurities. Substances such as sodium or ammonium lacryl sulfate act in this capacity.

  3. Detergents include cocamide, cocamidopropyl betaine, as well as glyceret cocoate, decyl glucoside. These substances are also used for better foaming and moisturizing.

  4. Emollients, they serve to thicken the structure of the shampoo and perform the function of conditioning the hair.

  5. Silicone oils. These include dimethicone, cyclomethicone, which perform functions such as adding shine to the hair, smoothing and thickening the hair. They also make scratching easier, but can cause itching and irritation.

  6. Hair moisturizers that penetrate the hair cuticle and enlarge it and add shine to the hair. This category includes substances such as panthenol, nut oil and shea butter.

  7. Cetyl, oleyl or stearyl alcohol. This product is a lubricant that makes combing easier.

  8. A variety of waxes that improve the appearance of shampoo and its consistency.

  9. Sodium salt of citric acid, which maintains normal pH levels. This ingredient also evens out the hair structure.

  10. All kinds of supplements that take care of hair. These include vitamins, components that protect hair from the sun, and other components.

  11. It also contains various flavors, preservatives and fragrances.

To start production and packaging of 20 tons of shampoo in 250 ml containers, an investment of 3-3.5 million rubles is required. This amount also includes the rental price. A shampoo manufacturing business plan can bring good profits. The payback period for such a business is approximately 2-3 years.

The sale of shampoo has the problem of a high level of competition. In the country a large number of foreign and Russian companies that specialize in the production of cosmetic products. And trying to attract users with a low price will not be the best choice. An option that can solve this problem is contract production of shampoo. It is possible to choose this path: find some representative of the brand that has already taken its place in the market, and produce shampoo according to their recipe.

Shampoos are foaming preparations for washing the scalp and hair to remove dirt, dust, fatty secretions and dead skin cells.

Currently, shampoo is one of the most used cosmetics . Shampoo is not only a hygiene product, but also a hair care product. The consumer expects additional properties from using this product, for example, the absence of irritation after using the product, the presence of conditioning properties, such as removing static electricity, easy combing of hair, adding shine to hair, providing protection from damage (thermal and mechanical), and increasing hair volume. The presence of biologically active components and aesthetic additives is also important. The requirements for these shampoos are quite strict. quality and safety requirements , efficiency. Products must have a balanced composition that has protective properties against environmental influences and helps restore the structure of damaged hair.

The production of hair shampoo received massive development about 50 years ago. At this time, a very effective surfactant was invented called sodium laureth sulfate, produced from coconut oil.

In the production of shampoos, you can use the same equipment that is used for the production of other types of cosmetic products.

The shampoo production process consists of several stages:

Preparation of raw materials;

Making shampoo;

Shampoo composition

Shampoo production begins with the development of a recipe. Each component included in the shampoo has its own purpose.

Classic methods of making shampoos involve the use of water as the main component, which makes up 70 - 75% of the shampoo. In the Russian Federation, the cosmetics industry uses drinking water that meets the requirements of SanPiN 2.1.4.1074-01. Such water must be prepared, purified, softened and neutralized. However, water can be completely replaced with herbal extracts. The KorolevPharm company has developed, implemented and successfully applied technology for the production of shampoos based only on extracts obtained using electric pulse plasma-dynamic extraction. This is especially important for children's products. This allows you to give the product certain properties. As is known, extracts have the property of penetrating into the upper layers of the skin, providing various effects, for example, softening, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory or antibacterial, soothing, therapeutic and prophylactic. The beneficial substances contained in the extracts themselves make it possible to impart certain properties to the product. Extracts also give shampoos different aromas and colors, which, in turn, allows you to avoid adding dyes and fragrances to the composition.

- Surfactants (abbreviated name for surfactants). One of the frequently used ones is sodium laureth sulfate, which is an anionic surfactant and is responsible for the washing effect of shampoo and the effective removal of impurities from hair. The content of anionic surfactants is 5-15%.

Auxiliary surfactants, for example, betaines, which provide properties to the shampoo that improve its quality (for example, foaming ability), soften the formulation and increase the harmlessness of the shampoo, improve dermatological characteristics, and also reduce the amount of salt that is introduced to thicken the shampoo.

Conditioning and softening additives such as polyquaternium.

Components that provide hair shine and facilitate easy combing (silicone oils such as cyclomethicone, dimethicone).

Additives that moisturize hair and give it shine (various oils, panthenol).

Some waxes that help improve appearance shampoo (for example, stearate).

- Special additives of various types depending on the declared effect (herbal extracts, proteins, keratin, vitamins, etc.).

Fragrances, essential oils, preservatives.

Shampoo production, technology

Shampoo production involves dissolving and mixing shampoo components in water in a mixing reactor. The required amount of water is supplied to the reactor in accordance with the technological map, the stirrers and heating of the boiler are turned on. The contents of the boilers are heated to a temperature of 55-60 o C. To soften the water, various complexing agents and softeners are added, for example, disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid EDTA. Load the anionic surfactant and continue stirring until it is completely dissolved and there is a homogeneous transparent mass in the reactor. In this case, such mixers and their rotation speed are used so as not to cause strong foaming of the contents of the boiler.

After this, the boilers are cooled to a temperature of 40-45 o C. At this time, the remaining components of the shampoo are introduced in accordance with the recipe. Once the temperature reaches 35-40 o C, preservatives and fragrances are introduced. After introducing each component, stirring continues until the introduced substances are completely dissolved. The finished shampoo is unloaded using pumps into a settling tank. Each shampoo preparation undergoes a stage of control for quality and safety indicators to ensure compliance with established requirements. Such requirements are established in the specification for the finished product. Only after confirmation of compliance is the brew allowed to be filled and packaged.

Packing

Shampoos are most often bottled in plastic bottles, which, on the one hand, ensure the safety of the product and, on the other hand, have an attractive and harmonious appearance.

Russian-made shampoos are produced in accordance with the requirements of TR CU 009/2011, which regulates product safety requirements. In addition, quality indicators for shampoos are established in GOST 31696-2012 “Cosmetic hygienic washing products. General technical conditions".

Shampoo making equipment

A shampoo production line usually includes the following equipment:

Reactors with heating and cooling capabilities, equipped with stirrers;

Transfer pumps;

Containers (containers) for settling and storing shampoo;

Device for filling and dispensing the product;

Device for labeling bottles.

Shampoos for children

A special place in the production of cosmetics is occupied by the production of cosmetics for children, including children's shampoos. Such products should have an exceptionally mild cleaning effect. The composition should not contain very active biological additives, prohibited preservatives, dyes, not irritate the scalp and eyes, and be hypoallergenic. The “Magic Herbs” series of cosmetics, which are made on the basis of medicinal plant extracts, has all these advantages.
