Gravity Falls is not just a cartoon, it is a full-fledged animated series created by American animator Alex Hirsch.

I must say that my relationship with him, in the sense of the cartoon), was not entirely rosy. At first sight, I didn’t fall in love with the strange, loud girl with a disproportionately large head and equally disproportionate teeth) And she wasn’t the only one who aroused such emotions in me, because I perfectly remember the animation of “The Scarlet Flower” created at Soyuzmultfilm by director Lev Atamanov - more beautiful than the illustration I still have to look.

I think it's clear))

And for quite a long time I undeservedly offended my daughter with my disrespectful statements regarding her favorite heroes, for which, in fact, I am now ashamed. But, one fine evening, she asked to watch “Gravity Falls” with her, apparently she really wanted to share her love and pleasure with someone.

I had to gather my strength and agree, and I still praise myself for it. No, well, you can’t be such a snob and not respect a priori something with which you are completely unfamiliar. I fell in love with the cartoon characters from the first minutes of watching, and, by the way, with the big-headed girl, whose name turned out to be Mabel :)

The characters have great humor, the characters are such that not every adult book will have such bright characters, each episode has a new fascinating plot and, as a bonus, the very atmospheric town of Gravity Falls, located somewhere in Oregon, in general a wonderful cartoon.

That's why, when the child asked for Dipper and Mabel's diaries, I went looking for them.

I cannot pretend to provide a detailed description of the advantages and disadvantages as an expert on Gravity Falls since I am not one)) but as a reader and connoisseur of books, I will note its quality, thoughtfulness of the text and photos and, most importantly, everything is designed in the style of the animated series.

The heroes brought their own character here too.

Dipper talks about his precious ghosts and the supernatural, and compiles guides to all types of werewolves.

You can recognize the pages where Mabel contributed from the first second - her typical tips on how to survive in the wilderness when you only have yarn, how to make a hat out of nothing, and the same characteristic lists, for example, of the most “wow” and the most lame guys in Gravity Falls, who are not worth wasting time on, and all this is flavored with the obligatory flowers and colorful ink))

Fans of the series know that this is one of the main artifacts that many cartoon characters hunted for. There are also 1st and 2nd diaries in the series, combining which you can create magic. But, apparently, to prevent anyone from doing magic)) the publisher did not release the first and second diaries.

So pay attention to diaries with numbers 1 and 2, they are fake.

As you remember, in the cartoon Dipper carried the diary in his bosom, but with the released copy from the Eksmo publishing house this will not be easy, the diary is impressive both in volume - 288 pages, and in size.

In my opinion, the Diary is simply beautiful. The quality of the supposedly aged pages is amazing, giving you the feeling that the diary was written by hand, beautiful illustrations and font.

Inside, fans will find plenty of tan pages of fun: just like in the original series diary, there is part of a blueprint for a portal that helps you travel through time.

Mabel (naturally, written with felt-tip pens of all colors of the rainbow and flavored with hearts)).

Pages that help you fully understand the history of the mysterious town where all this is happening, and some pages are generally super-realistic - “contain” stains of blood, pizza, ectoplasm...

The only negative is that the price is not the lowest, I had to wait for a discount) but here, too, depending on how you look at it, the book is made of really high quality and expensive. Although adding to it the “reliable” bookmark-tassel, monocle and ultraviolet notes would not be superfluous 😉

Price of the first diary: about 500 rubles (on Ozone it is now at a discount for 393 rubles).

Second: regular - about 1270 (bought at a discount at a price of about 950 rubles).

The Gravity Falls phenomenon will probably continue for a long time, but our purchases will most likely be limited to those that I wrote about since time goes by, my daughter develops other interests and values) if you still have time ahead of your passion for the cartoon about the Pines twins, then you can take an interest in other book products on this topic, published different types of diaries, coloring books, stickers and even statuses for a children’s desktop?)) I didn’t evaluate, as I usually do, my attitude towards these books using a five-point system, since I considered my assessment in this situation not too correct.

I personally liked the thin diary of Dipper and Mabel more, it seemed more interesting and entertaining due to the tasks, encryption, and the opportunity to write and draw in a lot of places in order to feel completely involved in the characters of the series. But, I perfectly understand how great the desire is for little fans of the cartoon to have exactly the same (!) diary as the one kept somewhere in the town of Gravity Falls in the vastness of Oregon.

I definitely recommend it for purchase by fans of the cartoon, others may not understand)) But I could have remained with the same opinion as someone’s mother, whose review I came across on the Internet: “A terrible book! People without spiritual guidelines really like it. I don’t understand what there is to admire there? Santa Claus brought it to the child. And I, as a mother, am disappointed ((It’s better to read the classics!

Here the thing is, undoubtedly, it is better and healthier to eat boiled beets than ice cream, but will these beets give you so much pleasure?))
