3. Then you need to take solid beeswax and grate it so that the mass is approximately 1 tbsp. Melt it in a small saucepan over medium heat.

4. Now you should be very careful. Quickly, before the wax hardens, you need to measure out 2 tsp, pour it into a separate pan and add almond oil or jojoba oil.

5. The resulting mass should be placed on a slightly heated stove and mixed thoroughly.

To obtain the final bouquet of several scents, take strips of ordinary thin paper and apply a drop of essential oil to each with a pipette. How to make perfume at home? Samples (strips) must be signed in advance. Smelling 2 or 3 strips at a time, changing their combinations, creates a composition of aromas. Then the resulting combination is fixed in the selected base:

  • liquid, light on alcohol;
  • hard wax;
  • resistant oil.

To obtain a rich aroma, the content of essential oils must be more than 30%. To obtain soft perfumes, volatile oils are added only in amounts of about 10%. How to make your own perfume? You need to follow simple advice from experienced perfumers and follow simple rules.

Each aromatic bouquet affects the olfactory organs sequentially in three stages:

  • high, head note;
  • the “heart” of future spirits;
  • the bottom note or base, which is the basis of the future aroma.

In the very first few minutes after application, light essential oils evaporate. Among them are citrus fruits, nutmeg oil, rosemary, lavender, basil, lemon, bergamot. This stage is called the “head” stage.

The second period of exposure (heart) can last from several hours to a full day. The heart, the main aroma of the perfume can be juniper and lily, oregano, rose and jasmine, iris, ylang-ylang, geranium and other persistent incense.

The base for perfumes is the smells of the most stable essential oils, among which are vanilla and patchouli, spicy and fruity aromas, the smells of cedar and musk, sandalwood and cinnamon. When learning how to make perfume with your own hands, it is important to remember the traditional proportions of the components. Fragrances are traditionally combined in a ratio of 1:2:3 (head: heart: base).

What to prepare

How to make homemade perfume? First of all, you need to prepare the necessary ingredients and equipment in advance. What you may need:

  • strips of thin paper for obtaining samples;
  • several essential oils with light and more intense aromas;
  • a little natural coffee (for inhalation) to improve sensitivity to odors;
  • several ordinary pharmacy pipettes (separately for each oil);
  • stick - stirrer made of glass or ceramics;
  • a notepad or notebook for recording the number (drops) of components;
  • alcohol and a little distilled water for light perfume;
  • wax for solid versions of the fragrant mixture;
  • bottles and mini-jars with tight lids;
  • ceramic or glass container for mixing ingredients.

It is not recommended to use metal or plastic utensils to avoid the reaction of essential oils with these materials.

Perfume base

Grapeseed oils, cocoa, almond and honey, clove and galbanum, benzoin and styrax can become the basic basis for your own perfume. When creating unique scents of their own, many people want to know exactly how to make perfume. At home, it is very important to keep a record of every drop of oil or base substance added to a perfume bouquet.

The carrier substance for perfume can be made from oil, water or alcohol. Oil-based fragrances last longer and have a more muted aroma; alcohol-based fragrances reveal themselves more easily and more fully on the surface of the skin, but have less durability and stronger odors. Almond oil is an excellent base. It perfectly dissolves any essential oils without changing their specific odors. If you dissolve 2-3 drops of the selected aroma in one teaspoon of almond oil, you will get a wonderful long-lasting oil perfume that has a beneficial effect on the skin.

Do I need to take into account the intensity of odors?

It is best, when experimenting with the process of “how to make perfume at home,” to choose ingredients that cause only pleasant sensations. Otherwise, these odors can negatively affect your overall well-being.

Base oils should have a weaker aroma than the “heart” perfume, so as not to overshadow the idea of the main composition.

To obtain incense according to the recipe “How to make perfume from oil,” two or three components are used in one composition. The resulting composition must be infused in a completely light-proof and cool place.

Basic instructions for making exclusive perfumes

Some people love the smell of roses, others prefer citrus or pine scents. Fresh or sharp, sweet or bitter, perfumes are chosen in accordance with the image and appearance, age and inner feelings of the woman. Creating perfume is a leisurely, careful creative process that requires patience, imagination and accuracy.

Adding drop by drop, the components are slowly mixed together for several minutes until the oil is completely dissolved in alcohol. Be sure to record all composition ratios. Then the paper strip is applied a large number of and slowly, deeply inhale the aroma. If everything in the bouquet suits you, prepare a larger amount of the mixture. If any of the odors interrupts the others, you need to carefully add the desired component and test the entire composition again. To simplify the process, each sample is signed.

In the most persistent perfumes, the oil content reaches 20-25%, alcohol - about 75% and about 5% water. It is not recommended to use cognac or brandy, since the inherent odors of these drinks can change the state of the main aromatic composition of the oils. Alcohol should only be used of the highest quality, preferably containing 57% alcohol. The higher the concentration of oils relative to alcohol and water, the more intense and long-lasting perfumes can be obtained. For color, plant natural dyes are sometimes added.

Floral scents

How to make perfume from flowers? To obtain delicate aromas, essential oils with the scents of jasmine and rosewood, iris and geranium, ylang-ylang and lily, lavender, oregano and others are used. For a wonderful perfume called “Starfall” you need to combine 5 drops of chamomile, valerian and lavender oils. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of vodka in 2 glasses of purified water. Add oil aromas there and pour it all into a dark glass bottle. Close the well-mixed mixture tightly. After infusing in a dark place for 12 hours, the perfume can be used.

Pink water

How to make perfume from roses? The simplest recipe for this composition is as follows:

  1. Take petals from several open pink buds.
  2. Pour any mineral water into a cup.
  3. Place the petals in water and leave for several hours.
  4. Strain through cheesecloth or a sieve. Pour into a dark glass bottle.

The resulting rose water can be successfully used instead of perfume as a light aromatic remedy. The only disadvantage of such perfumes is their short shelf life.

How to make perfume from flowers, from roses? If you pour the collected and crushed petals in a mortar with olive oil and leave in a warm place, you will get real rose oil. To increase its concentration, you can replace the infused old petals with new ones several times. The remaining flowers, taken out of the container and giving off their wonderful aroma, are squeezed out. And fresh, mashed flowers are filled with the same oil. The petals must be bright red or dark pink. They must be dry, without dew and water.

Firm and flavorful

It is very convenient to use perfumes with a solid base. They can be carried in a locket or small jar with a screw cap. A solid odorous substance can be used to create a special atmosphere in a room by simply rubbing them with your fingers. How to make solid perfume, and what is needed for this?

  1. First, as for other perfumes, a mixture of essential oils is prepared.
  2. The wax is melted in a separate bowl in a water bath.
  3. Add coconut or almond oil to the melted wax, gently stirring until smooth.
  4. The prepared aromatic composition of essential oils is added to the mixture removed from the heat.

Everyone has long been accustomed to classic perfumes, eau de parfum and eau de toilette, but for some reason dry perfumes have not become so widespread. And in vain!
They are very easy to make; solid perfumes offer ample opportunities for experimentation, creativity and the expression of your own individuality. Whether you want a unique scent or are allergic to the alcohol found in liquid perfumes, this tutorial will show you how to create an inexpensive alternative to classic liquid perfumes.

Step-by-step instruction:

1. Pour almond oil into a heat-resistant bowl and add wax.

2. Melt the wax in a steam bath.

Place the bowl with oil and wax in a saucepan with water so that the water does not overflow into the bowl. Place the saucepan on the fire, bring the water to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Stir the oil and wax constantly until the wax is completely melted.

3. Remove the wax from the heat when it is completely melted.

4. Pour essential oil into the mixture

To do this, use a straw or a thin chef's stick. Stir the liquid constantly. It is necessary to use a straw because with a sharp infusion of essential oils, the wax will begin to harden. Stir the hot wax thoroughly all the time.

5. Pour liquid wax into your final container.

After about 30 minutes, the wax will cool and harden, becoming solid, and the perfume will be ready to use. This will give you approximately 15 ml (by volume) of solid perfume.

Solid perfumes are a newfangled cosmetic product, in Lately much loved by the fair sex and not only.

Their advantage, first of all, lies in the fact that such fragrances are produced on the basis of fats and wax with the addition of various essential oils, natural herbal extracts and many other components.

This product also gained its popularity due to the fact that the aroma is very persistent and lasts much longer than most ordinary liquid perfumes.

And this is a huge plus, especially in hot weather, since under the influence of heat the smell of ordinary liquid perfumes made with alcohol evaporates. While the analogue, made from solid materials, does not lose its odor and remains as rich as in the first seconds after application.

In terms of their consistency, solid perfumes are similar to a thick creamy mass with a persistent, refined odor; they are extremely convenient to use. However, their main advantage remains their naturalness.

Natural solid perfumes, even if they are not prepared at home, cannot contain harmful chemical compounds. Otherwise, it will not be possible to maintain the much sought-after texture of the product.

So, solid perfumes must contain:

Paraffin or natural wax

These are the main components, the basis that ensures the “hardness” of the product.

To make solid perfumes at home with your own hands, it is recommended to use medical paraffin - it must be clean, sterile, and white.

Of course, using natural beeswax as a base in solid perfumes is much better, since by nature it has subtle honey notes, which makes the aroma much softer and more delicate.

If we consider the effects of components on the skin, beeswax is more useful because it contains a lot of healing microelements.

Base oil

Required ingredient. Olive, almond or jojoba oils are best suited for creating perfume at home.

It is also possible to use other oils, but the main condition is that it must be odorless, and, in addition, contain a rich set of vitamins.

Vitamin E

Its main task is to ensure the persistence of spirits and prolong their life.

In addition, vitamin E is known as a natural antioxidant that has a beneficial effect on the skin. It does not irritate the skin, does not cause redness, itching, moisturizes and prevents premature aging.

Glycerol

A good natural component that enhances the smell and has a soothing effect on the skin.

Essential oils at your discretion or according to the recipe

The final touch is the choice of essential oil. The perfume industry uses a huge number of these components, each of which has its own scent.

You just have to determine which one is most attractive to you or follow the recipes and create the perfume of your dreams.

Making solid perfumes with your own hands by choosing your own ideal scent is not at all difficult. All that remains is to consider the recipes for solid perfumes.

Basic scheme for preparing solid perfumes on a natural basis

Made on the basis of beeswax, solid perfumes themselves have a velvety texture, thanks to which they lie easily and smoothly on the skin, are absorbed into it in almost a matter of seconds, without leaving behind greasy marks or stains and without harming clothes.

If you want to create a unique, inimitable scent for your perfume, you should take special care in combining different scents and creating a special composition. From the first time, “by eye,” you will not be able to determine what exactly you need to use and in what proportions; this is a rather complex science, and everything comes only with experience.

Now let's take a closer look at how to make solid perfume at home.

All components are taken at the rate of: 10 grams of wax, 7 grams of base oil, one drop each of glycerin and vitamin E, 15 drops of a mixture of essential oils

First stage

It is best to prepare perfume in a water bath. Place a saucepan with a small amount of water over medium heat.

Place beeswax or paraffin in a heat-resistant container (it is better if it is a tall metal or glass glass with strong walls; you can also use a mug) and carefully place the container with the contents in a pan of water.

It is very important that even during boiling, water does not get into the wax under any circumstances. Thus, the wax or paraffin will melt very quickly and without problems.

Second phase

When you notice that the wax has become liquid, you should immediately reduce the heat to low and add the base essential oil.

It is worth saying that if the wax is of good quality, its connection with the base oil will occur gently and gradually, without requiring additional effort.

Third stage

When the oil is completely combined with the melted paraffin or wax, quickly remove the pan from the heat.

Fourth stage

Now let the perfume base rest a bit and cool for about 2-3 minutes.

At this time, you should mix essential aromatic oils in a separate bowl.

Remember not to overdo it, otherwise the smell may be unbearable. Accordingly, it is recommended to use a pipette to measure drops.

The following combinations are popular:

  • Orange, neroli, lavender and clove (7:5:2:1);
  • Orange, lavender, rosemary, rosewood, mint (8:2:1:3:1);
  • Rose, geranium, rosewood (10:3:2).

You select the required amount of essential oil for yourself individually. This is very simple to do: apply the desired number of drops of oil to a strip of cardboard, pass it through the air and smell to see if you like the concentration of the smell. This way you can choose your individual proportion.

However, you should remember that when mixed with the base, this aroma will become exactly a little softer and more delicate.

Fifth stage

Now combine the melted solid perfume base with aromatic oils and mix thoroughly with a wooden stick.

Remember to mix the ingredients while the base is hot and flowing. Otherwise, you will have to melt it again in a water bath.

The main rule for successful perfume preparation is speed. Focus on the process and don't get distracted. If you miss a moment, you will have to start all over again, so pay maximum attention to the cooking process to get a good result.

Stir until the substance acquires a homogeneous structure without lumps. Now add a drop each of undiluted pure glycerin and vitamin E.

The preparation of the perfume is almost complete. All that remains is to pour the contents into metal containers and leave to harden. In about an hour, your perfume will be ready to use.

Now you will get acquainted with the basic rules of applying perfume and learn how to use solid perfumes.
The natural solid analogue has little in common with ordinary liquid alcohol-based perfumes. They open up completely differently, and their texture helps the aroma spread throughout the room.

To “cushion” you do not need any additional tools, since the procedure is performed with your fingers. Take a little perfume with your fingertip and carefully distribute it over the skin, rubbing it in like a cream.

There are “key” points that, according to cosmetologists, are best suited for applying fragrances. So, what parts of the body are dry perfumes applied to?

  • The dimple of the neck where it meets the torso;
  • Hair-free area behind the ears;
  • Wrists;
  • Bend elbows;
  • Inner side of the knee;
  • You can easily rub perfume on your whiskey.

A little about scents and essential oils

There are many variations of solid perfumes. Manufacturers are not limited to inventing a bouquet of feminine scents alone. There are also solid fragrances for men. In this regard, men prefer sage, lavender, pine, juniper, cedar, and some types of sweet citrus scents.

Solid oriental perfumes are especially popular among fans of exquisite scents. They are distinguished by sophistication and the presence of warm notes. As a rule, to create “oriental scents” you should use essential oils of sandalwood, vetiver, and patchouli.

Women's oriental fragrances have a delicate texture and slightly sweetish undertones, while solid perfumes for men are more austere, with citrus, lavender and nutmeg notes.

All aromatic essential oils have a strict classification, according to which it will be easier for you to choose the ideal combination of scents.

The best perfume is the smell of your body

Tips for properly making your own perfume:

How to make perfume from oil

First of all, it is very important to prepare the container in which your perfume will be stored. It must be as sterile as possible. After washing thoroughly, do not use any towels, let it dry on its own.

Once you have purchased or made your own essential oil, it is important to ensure that it will last as long as possible. To do this, follow the following rules:

1. Store essential oils in a cool, dry place, away from strong light and heat, because heat can change the composition of the aroma. Ideally, this is a room closet. A cabinet in the kitchen or bathroom will not work.

2. If the perfume begins to change color or aroma, it should be destroyed. Never store perfumes consisting of two or more mixed essential oils for more than two months, because immediately after mixing, the oils begin to slowly oxidize.

3. All perfume compositions you create must be tested for sensitivity on the skin.

4. Always record the date you purchased your essential oil to keep track of its condition. If stored properly, it will be good for a year.

5. Never use metal tools when making perfume because the metal may react with any of the ingredients and ruin everything.

6. If the perfume recipe contains glycerin, try to mix it with water in such a way as to avoid the appearance of air bubbles. Glycerin is a good fixative and can be added to various formulas and recipes to help the scent last longer.

7. Dark-colored glass containers are best for storing perfume. Never use plastic bottles because the oils are bound to react with the plastic, ruining the scent.

8. A good perfume formula is: 75 percent alcohol and 25 percent aroma, eau de toilette is 12-15 percent essential oil, 50-60 percent alcohol, the rest is distilled water.

Remember that any disaster you might end up with as a result of mixing different ingredients can be neutralized by lemon and lavender.
